A month ago, Miss Info and I had a brief exchange regarding Lloyd’s “Lay It Down” and how the track had a youthful sound that reminded me of how music is meant to excite and create energy. My understanding came from being at local high school basketball game and watching a pack of seven, little raggamuffins pseudo-crooning their hearts out in the bleachers as the tune played during halftime. As I loosely remember it, Info and I agreed that the whole surroundings of the song take you back to when it was “cool” to like songs from the radio. Coming from the upcoming King Of Hearts album, the track’s juvenile to a degree but Lloyd’s lyrics and singing are pure and Polow’s sonic beat entraps the body.
So tapping R. Kelly to remix such an innocent song causes me to squirm a little. Jeezy? He’s reaching Detox status, where each time I see his name appear in association with music, the only reaction I have is to ask “Where’s TM103?”
Dah well.
Lloyd Feat. Young Jeezy & R. Kelly – “Lay It Down (Remix)”
Salute: Black Bill Gates

This was one of the top 5 songs of 2010.
I like both remixes. There’s also a remix with MJG over the Ball & G Lay It Down beat
id love to hear that version ball and G’s lay it down is one of my fav southern joints of all time.
we used to be riding around playing that shit and the locals would be like wtf are they listening too…back then westcoast shit was the standard around MI
This is a dope remix! Kellz goes in & proves why he still the King of R&B!

I’ll listen later but I’m kind of weary due to the fact that I don’t like Jeezy on smooth R&B songs. “Love in the club” would’ve been better left to just Usher.
god bless you yodaddy.
dope ass remix
