What’s “H.A.M.”? We now know. Looks like B. Will-O and It’s The God guessed correctly a few days ago.
And I feel like somebody owes Pill and Atlanta residuals.

Kanye West & Jay-Z – “H.A.M.”

Jay bodied it … sounds like Lex Luger did the beat with a little help from Ye with the opera sample.
Kanye with the Wayne flow? lame.
Jay with the Originators flow? ill.
Kanye with the Three 6 Mafia beat? ehhhh.
This is cool, sounds a little novelty-ish; hoping for a dope album, though.
I fux with it but I kinda like “That’s My Bitch” a lil better.
Not worth the hype though.
They better have “So Appalled Pt. II” in the stash.
This is some pretty corny shit.
yall really didn’t know what HAM was? Guess I’ve been in ATL too long. But this track blows balls
Should’ve stayed off the hype wave cuz I was expecting a lot more from this. I do hope this is one that grows on me cuz if not, this is gonna be an autoskip when Watch the Throne drops (If it’s on it of course).
Lol, I don’t get caught up in the “living up to the hype” stuff anymore. It’s just a new song. Jay bodied it off my first listen though.
Cats were waiting with bated breath to hate on this one just based on the players involved.
Why don’t y’all listen to it more then once before spewing your venom?
I think Jay came strong. Let me listen to Kanye’s verse again.
This track is to hard & dope! Got me anticipating #watchthethrone even more then I already was!
6th listen. It blows more balls now
Somewhere right now Pill is losing his mind recording a diss song saying, “These East coast niggas is stealing our Swag!”
Fuck what cha heard, this shit is gonna blow. This is gonna be the theme song during the NBA playoffs. Watch.
Agree wholeheartedly with J. Tinsley i was hearing about the hype for this song for the longest, but i listened to it like it was any regular joint. And i was very, very relieved.
The beat is what you would expect from Luger.
Jay destroyed his verse & his hook was niiice.
Kanye i have to listen to his verse again but it was iite so far.
But damn the beat is really something else if you listen to it over & over.
Clean version: “Hard As a Mug”
6th listen. Still a lil bit disappointed, but Jay murked it. Don’t think the opera meshed well with Lex Luger’s exceedingly hype style tho.
I retract my statement about this beat being Three 6 Mafia-esque. Three 6 got way better hi hats. Anybody listening to this on decent speakers? How’s the bass?
what is going on? the beat is corny, not feelin the sample or the synth horns.
Yeezy shoulda stayed off the track all together.
i like it
Lex destroyed this beat…but I don’t think ‘Ye and Hov knew exactly what to do with it. As much as I HATE to say it, the Cop would have bodied this joint.
My verdict is it’s better than raps that are on the radio, but only slightly above “See Me Now” in terms of Kanye’s recent works.
In comparison “The Joy”>>>>>>>
Read these 10 steps and all is right in the world:
1. Kanye’s verse sucked
2. Jay-Z bodied the track
3. Lex Luger’s beats sound really similar
4. Similar Luger beats are not a problem
5. Love the beat, even more at the end
6. Need a verse from Lil Wayne to start it off
7. A verse from officer Ricky to end it
8. Cut Kanye’s verse and give him some production credit
9. Get Waka to re-write and do the hook
10. Pay Pill 75,000 grand and get him for the remix
@ tres
The bass is good
This song has the potential to grow on you. Feeling the frenetic beat although limiting two of hiphop’s heavyweights with only a verse a piece is weak. Decent throwaway song
But damn the beat is really something else if you listen to it over & over.

Once Weezy grabs this, it’s over.
Auburn won + this= counting them W’s.
@ AmpGeez a.k.a Smoke Greene
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Lil Wayne is going to swag surf the fuck out of this……
And when you add in his mentality to be the “best rapper alive” and it being a Jay-Z track…..
A Jay-Z track of Jay-Z snapping no less…..
#rapnerddream
This is gonna be the theme song during the NBA playoffs. Watch.
==========================
This wouldn’t surprise me one bit. ESPN LOVES Kanye. TNT too.
Kanye’s verse could have been better but he had the best line….
“Like Eli I did it”
Hard as a motherfucker! Pill does deserve some residuals for the popular phrase. Then again, I’m not so knowledgeable on who made it popular. It’s Lex Luger’s time, though. That’s for certain.
This is gonna be the theme song during the NBA playoffs. Watch.

this.
that rideout was ridiculus.
shots @ Baby though?
Strike one on Kanye…biting Lil Wayne….
“Kicking bitches out like Pam”
Not better than “That’s My Bitch”, though.
%#+# y’all mad at me for? Y’all don’t even know what I been through
I played chicken wit’ a Mack truck, y’all motherfs woulda been moved
I swam waters wit’ Great Whites, y’all motherfs woulda been chewed
I hustled wit’ vultures late nights, y’all motherfs woulda been food
%#+# wrong with these fools? Try to walk around in these shoes
See the %$%% I saw growin’ up, then maybe you could take a peek at these boots
%%%*## fantasize about the %$%% that I do daily
Like these rappers rap all that %$%% that I do really
I’m like, “Really, half a billi? N_, really you got baby money”
Keep it real wit’ n’s, n’s ain’t got my lady money
Also when you have Jay-Z say he just went “ham”, then you know you got something special, whether it’s good or bad, on your hands.
eli porter reference make this an instant personal classic.
*goes back to wormin*
It’s good for Lex Luger to be around producers like Kanye & Juicy J, it’ll help him build on his potential.
Beat is pretty tight. Jay & Ye kinda rushed their verses, I think.
I played chicken wit’ a Mack truck, y’all motherfs woulda been moved

Shots @ Sigel?
aye this shit is kind of crazy.
im wanting to like this.
Damn…even when Kanye has a supbar verse he comes thru with the “Blame Game” style vocal switches, the opera samples & piano, and the Eli Porter line. In saying all that, Jay ‘Nick Fairley’d’ this beat.
Expect for the remix to have CyHi, Big Sean(and/or Pusha T) Wayne, and Ross on it. Hell maybe even Flocka.
Or Marshawn Lynch’d it. However you see fit.
I’m like, “Really, half a billi? N_, really you got baby money”
Keep it real wit’ n’s, n’s ain’t got my lady money
==================================================
I’m no expert, but those sound like shots to me cause unlike Baby, Hov “Keep it real wit ni@@as”.
Yeah, pretty sure that’s a shot but like the MC Hammer line, Jay can play innocent & say it was just a line.
The Camel is slick widdit.
@ Athrin
I told you, negro. “Peace God” Jay-z in the N.G.E. He mentioned it too many times over the past years, to not be.

Jay’s never claimed the 5. I think it’s just the heavy influence that’s showing up in his flow here.
First listen…it’s an undeniable monster of a Luger beat. And you can definitely tell the Kanye influence here, too, it’s not just Luger doing a B.M.F. rehash.
Kanye sounds like he shit the bed, Eli Porter ref and hook aside.
Ye continues to bring the best out of modern-day Jay.
Yeah, I like the hook enough, but it is absolutely screaming for Flocka on it.
This has potential to be massive. I dunno why everyone wants the Constable on this one, though…didn’t you hear “9 Piece”? His flow over Luger beats has gotten old fast.
*AHEM*
Had Kanye actually got some mafugging rappin’ done on MBDTF, maybe he would be able to keep up with Big Brother.
5 Cigs my ass.
Signed,
TC The Realist.
i’m loving that these niggas in the zone. i fucks with it…oh hail the illuminati…lol
The Cape is dope!
Oh wrong thread? *Kanye Shrug while going H.A.M.*
The beat is sick. Ye verse was very very very horrible. The hook is lame as fuck. Jay verse was decent. I agree wit the homie, Rick Ross should be added to the track asap to save this shit. Who ever thought that could be the case….lol
Am I the only one with a big problem with the damn opera interlude near the end. That shit ain’t HAM at all! I was cool with everything until that part.
Hated it.
havent listened to this yet, all the negative comments got me scared,,i been real hyped about this album, i hope this isnt a TOTAL dissapointment..idk..
huh.
reminds me of ‘it’s me bitches’ when swizz was the only one that belonged on that beat, as ridiculous as his verses were…
wrong rappers, wrong beat, wrong time…
looking forward to ‘that’s my bitch’ in finished form though
Second listen and I still dont know if I like it. I think I might like it more Mr. West put some effort into his verse. Jay did what he usually does…I think the beat just doesn’t fit them. *sits and waits for the 5 million freestyles to follow*
Diddy went in on that second verse, hu hu hu hustlin out of harlem! or was that jay-z? should have been called c.a.m corney as a motherfucker!
stop dick-riding, this shit was the whackest joint jay ever been on! following kanye’s stupid ass. and the beat zsound like Mortal Combat
LOL! @ TC
Upon 1st listen I immediately thought:
1.Kanye with the Soulja flow?
2.This beat is really weak, they tried to do too much… Lex Luger all over.
3.^ And it’s built for the remix…
4.Jay stood on top of this.
5.Doesn’t Be’ gross more than Jay?
6. I been hearing dudes talking about going HAM here in Atl waaay before Pill.
Overindulgence 1, Dopeness 0
lil off topic kinda….but not really….Just because Pill made a song called HAM first, doesn’t mean he came up with the word. If your outside that circle then its the first time you heard it. It’s like when T.I.P. made Trap Muzik, to new listeners Trap was a new term, but if you listened to Outkast in the 90′s the word trap is more heavy on the first three albums than tip said it in his career. Not including if you lived in ATL. The moral to the comment is…..Just because you heard it first from this guy…..doesn’t mean he birthed it. I could go on….
The Cape is dope!
Oh wrong thread? *Kanye Shrug while going H.A.M.*
=======================================================================
^5 TRA The Cape is dope. lol
Jay’s verse was crazy, overall the song does not match the hype. For all of Baby’s Wayne is better talk, that was probably a shot at Baby. But Jay will never tell.
Going “HAM” is pretty much an Atlanta term…..just like Trill is a Texas term.
Simply put though….they are the wrong rappers for this beat. Definitely needed a Rick Ross, T.I. or a Young Jeezy maybe even Lil Wayne or Waka Flocka, Slim Thug type on this because Kanye & Jay-Z get consumed by this beat. I might even take a Nicki Minaj on this beat
WATCH THE THRONE !
WHERES THE CROWN ?
GOD’S SON NEEDS A RETURN.
Bey grosses more than Jay, but her makeup and weave budget lessens her bottom line.
Bey grosses more than Jay, but her makeup and weave budget lessens her bottom line.
======================================================================
Don’t forget the money lost on Deron clothing line. Take away that B will would Bill Gates. lol
3rd listen the songs growing on me a little bit…but the best part of the song is the opera breakdown imo
The album art reminds me of the old school Print Shop days when cats would just layer eight borders and backgrounds together, does anyone know who did it? Straight nostalgia. And talk about the end times…people are requesting Ricky’s presence to save the song?
Watch the Throne makes me just wish for a Jay album with Kanye exec’ing it.
I know…I know not the best ‘Ye verse but imagine the strength of this song in the club. I think Kanye was going for his Lil B style on this one…The ‘Baby” shot was clever cuz I’m tired of him saying him and Wayne got more than Hov….overall I like this song.
“but the best part of the song is the opera breakdown imo”
-
I just can imagine DJs mixing that ish with something.
Like Eli “I did it…” He talking bout dude from the worst rap battle ever…Eli Porter
forsees alot of pork in our future once other rappers get they mits on this.
I prefer the RapRadar cosign of “Hatin’ Ass Muthaf—-s”
Did someone say Kanye was using a Lil B flow….
Nah you heard his “just dropped a classic, phone it in” flow
Regardless of what you think of Rick Ross, he would murk this beat. With Waka doing the hook and Weezy starting it off, this could be the best song of 2011.
@FWN: It’ll be interesting to see how this holds up in a 2011 retrospective, especially once the remixes and “freestyles” start pouring in.
Get Lex Luger all the way the fuck outta here!
@Gotty
On a long enough timeline Jay always Wins
Not completely feeling Kanye’s verse, but Jay went in.
there better be a remix to this joint. Luger put together an intensely hype track for them not to do an official remix, otherwise everybody and their mother will have one out before the end of the week.
Give me CyHi, Wayne, & Em on this track
Good shit …
Kanye and Jay tracks in January=Celtics in January. They may still get some Ws, but their hearts aren’t quite in it.
Is it just me or did anyone else think that Lex snagged this beat from some discarded Third Reich propaganda film?
shit rides, but damn I want Em, Wanye or Luda to destroy this track.
Why ya’ll keep talking up Wacka? That grade school drop out doesn’t belong in the same building as any decent rappers
I’ve listened to it 5x and its extra wack imo
jay had that Rick Ross cadence!! yall know im not tripping
That sh*t is wick’wick wack!!!
eminem should hop on this track with them and spit a verse at the end
Wrong artist for the beat…. u need Wacka and Ross on this, jay did good
kanye ehhh still think they are the wrong artists to fuck with this beat like Wacka wouldnt sound good over a soul sample… guys dont hate a luger yes his shit sounds similar but thats his style this beat goes H.A.M
Hov and Ye Killed this track. Watch the Throne going to be Monster. Anyone can jump on a remix and kill it, that shit was tight.
ROC BOYS BABY!!
ummm….Hovi’s verse is fucking ridiculous
Jay verse is CRAZY but the flow is a lil weak if yall can follow that…kanye verse belong in the dumpster. The beat doesnt fit these dudes which is prolly y jay sounds so awkward on it. The opera breadown is WACK!! this joint is begging for a remix.at the end of the day its the perfect lead in to the album. Jay wins again
stop winnin yall
ITS FUCKIN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
YEE<!
That was one of jays best lyrical verses ever..I’m actually very impressed. historical verse
Kanye was Wack as a muthafucker Wam
Im Gonna Body This………
HamGang
Yea this song is very disappointing. I still have high hopes for the album. The beat just has too much going on. Check out my review of the single on my blog.
[trenchtownrockers.blogspot.com]
Told you so…… Zoo Beeze – “This Is H.A.M” [limelinx.com]
ILLUMINATI!!!!!
This song is kind of wack. I fucks with Ye and Jay Z. The beat does not suit Ye at all, and Jay-Z’s verse saves the song…If he wasnt on it, it would be trash sandwich. But, its pretty lame.
I liked it. It’s not what you expect from those two, unless they were featured.
This was the same kinda flow Ye used on “All of the Lights”.
I think the “idea” is to feel the beat since it’s longer than the verses combined. Plus that’s the point of most Dirty South Hip Hop, have a decent flow and beat that compliments. Thought provoking lyrics ain’t @ the forefront.
I thought Hov was getting a Fif since he is half a billi.
Besides they always throwing jabs back & forth on some I got more than you ish. I don’t think Hov ever responded to Fif’s grey poupon comments @ the end of that Sigel song.
Either way Hov is going H.A.M. on someone!!
- kanye went hardd nd jiqqa did his thanq..straiqht hardd !*
