The new Black Sex In The City will be coming to the TV screen and starring two beacons of eternal beauty, Lisa Raye and Stacey Dash, and Charity Shea, who isn’t too shabby either and we’ll assume portrays the token white friend role. Something something something, the show’s premise revolves around three friends navigating relationships, Atlanta’s social scene and the inability to find healthy relationships, which is so unimaginable in ATL, right? Do they do nudity or sex scenes on VH1? Queen Latifah’s involved so maybe we’ll get…oh, I’ll just stop while I’m ahead.
The show’s eye candy > Girlfriends and is set to include guest appearances from Lauren London, Eve, Common, TLC’s Chili, and Kim Porter. The two hour premiere hits the tube on May 30th (or July maybe) on VH1 but feel free to watch the trailer below.

Sex in the City was a huge success, because it pushed boundaries and had writing that felt very authentic. But it definitely wasn’t kind to folks of color, in terms of representation on the show. So I get why the writers of this new show would capitalize on the missing elements of Sex in the City.
Honestly, I’m not interested in seeing any of these women do sex scenes…i definitely was 15 years ago..I’m definitely not the demographic the writers are trying to pull in, so who cares what i think.
I will say this before I get back to reading about the Packers vs Bears. Is there anyone else out there like me who just isn’t feeling “the cougar/milf?” I feel like you can get two in the dome for sayin’ that these days..especially when talking about hot woman, who been hot for decades (Dash, Raye, Halle, Mrs. Huxtable, etc.)
Yea, yea, yea, they can “get it” and all that, but so can my supple-bodied, energetic, modern, intelligent, still-got-like-50plus-years-of-good-looks-20-something girlfriend/future wife.

this is true. but the one saving grace for Girlfriends was tracee ross’ ridiculous ass. COTDAMN that girl had back. the rest of the show, as i’m sure this one will be, was trash though.
