All good things come in twos. With sharp lyrics comes a banging beat. With good weed comes hard liquor. And with Game comes DJ Skee. Over the years, they’ve collaborated to release some of the best mixtapes ever, including the infamous You Know What It Is Volume 3. For their next act, the two have linked together again for the 2-disc mixtape Purp and Patron, in the latest step along the path of Game’s attempted career revival.
The first half is dedicated to “Purp,” while the closer is “Patron.” With features from the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Lil’ Wayne and Fabolous, expect Chuck Taylor to bring out many different flows and use just enough lyrical prowess to hold his own in the ring. He’s made a steady improvement since his two mixtapes last year and if this one follows a similar pattern, who knows what the future holds. If you can hold your breath long enough, The R.E.D. Album just might come out before you go blue in the face.
Here’s the entire tape in one setting.

He HAS made a steady improvement but I’m still not holding my breath.
Sidebar – I used to love 2CD mixtapes.
Makes me miss hitting up the local African bootlegger twice a week to see what was poppin’. I had been going there so long, my dude used to put certain joints on the side for me and everything.
The Smoking Section replaced the local African bootlegger lol.
@Amp It’s like havin a legitimate side B …
dope mixtape
looks like game is back
streamn ths now…
so far so good. actually surpassin expectations up 2 now….
This tape sounds like an album & what other emcees you know put out a double disc tape that sounds this dope? This is history right here from the big homie Game & I most definitely can not wait for The R.E.D. Album to finally drop! #ThinkRED
Shit is dope. These dudes make hot-ass mixtapes that should be albums. Then the albums that follow ain’t as good. Why don’t they just drop the mixtape as an album? Like, Albert Anastasia was better than Teflon Don & raised expectations for the album way too high… so no matter how dope Teflon Don was, it’s gonna be compared to the mixtape. They kinda work against each other.
Fuck it… why ask why. It’s FIRE!
No fuckin way Albert Anastasia was better than Teflon Don….quit smoking that shit bruh. Teflon Don had 10 classics and then that song with Trey and Diddy. Live Fast Die Young…Tears of Joy….Free Mason…Aston Martin Music…Maybach Music 3….come on now…The album took monumental shits on the mixtape.
But I feel you though…this Purp & Patron is straight up ridin. But it was only just a matter of time before Game started making some great shit again….next up is Jeezy…watch
He must have spent 200K on production/guest verses and spent a whopping $50 on the cover art…
Where the manager at?
