The music industry is so fragmented these days that even pop-rap acts can thrive in a somewhat underground setting. The Pack, a group who seemed to be a one hit wonder from their inception, is now regaining some traction with their latest album Wolfpack Party. With one group member becoming a pop culture phenomenon and a pretty successful first single, the team decided to draw up a video for their lyrically light, yet bass heavy second single “Dance Floor” alongside the always provocative newcomer Dev, who’s voice you’ve heard a million times on the radio talking about her infatuation with a certain private jet.

That’s who that chick is? Between her, M.I.A. (though she’s far superior) and Ke$ha, there are entirely too many pop chicks singing to techno. What happened to that techno that we grew up on. You know that “Show Me Love,” “Pump Up the Jam” and joints like that? They had meaning and gave you a special feeling. Pause.
Everybody/Eeeeverybody
Everybody/EEEEVERYBODY
LMAO!
“IT’S THE RHYTHM OF THE NIGHT… THE NIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!”
Dev is highly overrated.
The Wolfpack I have worked with… however, they would have been much better off having The Cataracs produce the record (whom although I do not care for… are the only reason why Dev is even signed to a major in the first place).
Tell me you could not replace her with any other chick and get the same reaction? Just twist some knobs in your favorite audio software program or behind the boards and Voilà! Insta Dev. Reminds me of that one movie where dude created the pop star… yeah, that one.
Hold up @Leegle , “Pump Up The Jam” had MEANING??? bahahaha
TRA you are definitely right about Dev, but I’ve been down with the cataracs since they started in 05, so it’s great to see them workinng with so many new people. They definitely know how to craft some catchy songs, just wish they got back to their older sound when they rapped about mobb shit and didn’t use autotune, but can’t really blame them for going the route they did.
not a lot of colour in that crowd.
Young L looks like that kid in 7th grade who could grow facial hair so he tried to grow a beard but ended up looking really scummy
LOL @ meezy. How often do you hear/read someone have this kind of conversation concerning techno music?
Even sadder is when the younger generation gets mad at the music coming in later which will make them say, “Damn kids today and their music. Back in the day we had real music like Pretty Ricky and Gucci Mane. Something you can FEEL.” lmao
“They definitely know how to craft some catchy songs…”

Yep.
“But can’t really blame them for going the route they did.”

@b: that video was filmed at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz which is a hippie beach town an hour plus south of The Bay…explains the lack of color you could be referring to.
