Finally. A few Weezy fans are probably uttering that word right now, but I’m saying it because after years and years…and years of saying Cory Gunz is on his way, the NY fire spitter finally has a co-starring role in a monster track. The track is called “6’7″ and it’s the first single from Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV.
Maybe Wayne felt like he owed Gunz for taking him off of the O.G .”A Milli” track. Maybe young Carter came back from his bid pissed that Young Money had yet to use Cory in any meaningful manner over the last few months. Or maybe Cory pulled a CyHi and snuck on the track. Whatever happened, I’m happy to see Cory Gunz finally getting a modicum of shine. We’ll see where this show-stealing verse takes him.
As for the man of the hour, Wayne is back and spitting some inspired bars. No, he’s not lamenting about the trials and tribulations of the United States penal system quite yet, but he’s ripping this beat to shreds. Mack Maine called this “A Milli on steroids” and he’s not lying. Hate all you want, but there’s a spot waiting for Lil Wayne in Hip-Hop that nobody filled while he was gone and I’m personally excited for Tha Carter IV.

C4! Great to hear some new wayne.
eh….sounds like a generic weezy track to my eardrums
Never been the biggest Wayne fan, but that family picture line and “Real G’s move in silence like lasagna” pretty much sold me on this.
And did Bangladesh drop the Young Money lawsuit or something?
I didn’t think it was possible but Bangledesh has just confirmed that he’s the world’s first “no trick pony”.
waynes flow sounds like the one he had on “no ceilings”, which i like alot. so i like both their flows, but for the most part, both their lyrics are the same mundane words that every rapper in the game is saying. i think j. cole has spoiled me
The song is called Six Foot Seven Foot, but 6’7″ is Six Foot, Seven Inches. Just sayin..
The song should be 6’7′
because 6’7″ is indeed six foot’ seven inches”. Someone fucked up.
Words can’t describe how fire this song is. weezy back
Wayne has shown that he can do far better. Unfortunately I don’t think he will for Tha Carter IV and maybe not even for the rest of his career. But maybe I’ll be surprised.
bars bars n mo bars! i concur tht he does hav tht no ceilings flow goin on which makes him sound hungry or rathr serious.(word2flex) not so heavy on c gunz. lookn 4wrd 2hearn more frm him now tht he got his proper “touch da sky” “star is born” (re)introduction.
*Kanye shrug*
I understand that Wayne is a completely different type of artist than Kanye, but c’mon Weezy. You can’t have your competition upping the ante musically, and then you come with the same shit you’ve been doing since the Drought 3.
But I’ll wait and reserve full judgment until another single comes out.

Agreed…
Lil wayne ripped it up, went in hard and came out clean. “Young money eating, haters just add salt” , quotable lines one after the other really. Now I like Corey Gunz, but i’m starting to lose hope for this guy, someone help him, hes extremely talented, but what is he talking about, too gritty and he just doesn’t make sense at times. He just looks to make the next quick ryme. talking about visiting urinals abroad”.. like you just missed your opportunity to blast off…
yeah, Wayne’s sounding dope on this shit…. then again I had really low expectations.
“fuck her like I missed her” had me laughing
& that lasagna line.
First time i heard it thought it was hot as fuck…second & third time i heard it, i wasn’t as easily fooled…This is song is same ol’ wayne, different song. No structure just random punchlines, blah, blah blah.
The lasgana line was nice, and the family tree line was nice too. Thought Cory stole the show tho.
anybody know where he got that sample at? or hell, wtf does it say at the end, 6 foot 7 foot 8 foot HUH!?!? lol
^ I believe it’s from the banana boat song, the line goes…
“6 foot, 7 foot, 8 foot, bunch!”
It’s an interesting use of the sample. Songs fine… I guess. Then again it’s 4am, so I’ll have to listen to it when I’m more awake.
RMF…
i don’t even fuck wit wayne anymore but i fucks wit this track
dAYO!…SAMPLE IS BANANA BOAT BY HARRY BELAFONTE….i WANTED TO USE THIS SAMPLE…dammmit!
same shit.
i fucks with wayne but this the same old ish and i wish cory gunz just put all that ish together we tired of tha same old flow

Beetle Juice Beetle Juice Beetle Juice
Haven’t liked anything Wayne has made in years but I fucks with this track and Corey Gunz absolutely did not outshine anyone.
Nothing wrong with doing the same as long as you do it well. This is the same flow, content and lines we have heard from Wayne. But it doesn’t matter because he did his thing well and that is all that matters.
Stop comparing Kanye to Wayne its stupid. Kanye is a gifted producer and Wayne ins’t nor is Wayne intend to be. I don’t understand why you would expect Wayne to drop his own My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. In a lyric/flow contest Wayne wins. Kanye a great producer and a good rapper. Wanye is a great rapper and not a producer.
I don’t get the appeal of Cory Gunz. I had a hard time hearing his bars because of the way his voice sounds. And the very few I did hear weren’t anything amazing. I also feel he was holding back. I have heard better Gunz verses.
boppin with the spritzer and his lyrics just got 3 times better, shoulda gone sober earlier
Sounds like hot garbage to me.. The rap game is so wack thank God for real Hip hop. Side note: The only ones running around saying Corey Gunz was dope was you rap media cornballs. Also the writer of the article sounds more like a Lil Wayne groupie than an objective writer.
I’m no Wayne stan but he merked this one. Back in Dedication 2/Carter 3 leak/Drought 3 beast mode as opposed to drug-casualty bubblegum garbage Carter 3 retail/Young Money overkill mode.
“Married to the money/F*ck the world/That’s adultery/”
“I got through that sentence like a subject and a predicate/”
Well done, Wayne. Well done…
this shit go so fucking hard…stand under me..than you don’t understand me..

Word?? how can you fill the guys spot when he still has releases with video appearances almost every month while he was gone? i know this hip-hop internet culture likes to move at the speed of light but he also released an ep that sold moderately well considering it was more experimental ishh. Wayne and his camp managed his brand extremely well while the talent was stuck on Rikers.
thats why “it feels like he never left”
