*Smoking Section writer tirelessly pillages his Google Reader for any news on a cold, late-December day. Scan, scan, scan… glances at headline “Kim Kardashian Shoots Video With Kanye West.” Eyes locked, pupils widen, laughs burst out of mouth… HAHAHAHAHA*
Amber Rose, Selita Ebanks, ‘Ye’s got a new voluptuous vixen to whom he’s lending a helping, golden musical hand. Move over, girls, and let Rolling Stone provide the cringe-worthy details as sloppy spit is wiped from the blogger’s MacBook screen.
“The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star filmed a video for her forthcoming record with Kanye West in Los Angeles yesterday. The clip, directed by legendary hip-hop video director Hype Williams, will probably be released sometime in the next year. It is unknown whether Kanye provided a guest rap on Kardashian’s single, or if he was simply a guest star in the video. The song is likely to be co-written and produced by The-Dream, who is attached as a producer for the entire album.” [Rolling Stone]
If ‘Ye’s involvement in the Armenian Paris Hilton’s first single goes further than the aforementioned guest spot (as in, say, a guest hook) on what is sure to be more eye candy than eye-popping substance, then consider a stain to Mount Olympus’ pinnacle imminent. While it won’t soil his legacy, it’s a questionable move from someone who currently holds the music world in the palm of his hand. And, for a man who deftly wove Bon Iver’s folk rock mastery into his latest epic, this move seems more than odd, considering the already doomed stench that wreaks from this gilded project.
