And finally, nowadays no revolution is complete if the viral component is omitted which certainly isn’t the case here. With such a polarizing figure and volatile situation, nearly everyone with even the slightest understanding of basketball has taken a side. For those against James, several outlets have emerged where people worldwide can type their disgust with LeBron. In essence, referring to it as an online chapter meeting would suffice.

One of the avenues which have caught steam and the attention of national outlets is the @LaughAtLeBron Twitter account started by longtime LBJ antagonist David Acosta.

Acosta is just one of thousands of fans who felt betrayed by James after he took his talents to South Beach over the summer. Now, he hopes to recruit at least 2,000 followers to join his Twitter campaign before Thursday’s game he and other fans can enjoy the King’s return to Cleveland in a different kind of way.

“I’ve always seen LeBron James as overrated and overhyped,” Acosta said. “Seeing him do what he did to Cleveland was atrocious. As far as gathering followers, we’ve got over 500 so far in six days. With three days left, hopefully we can gain more.”

Exactly 21 weeks ago today, the most lauded free agent class in league history concluded their negotiations. This would set the stage for what is now arguably the most publicized NBA regular season game since Michael Jordan’s first comeback in 1995. Beyond that, Thursday night represents a game where a city hopes to say to its former ‘Chosen One,’ “We’ll be fine without you.” Lifelong Cavs fan and Cleveland native Jason Roberts told me these exact words during a previous conversation.

“The one thing Cleveland will never co-sign is a coward, or one who partakes in cowardly acts. So welcome back LeBron to a place that you have been exiled from forever. May your game Rest In Pieces. There is no love for you here anymore. It was your ‘decision,’ so now you live with it.”

Meanwhile, the player, whose only Cleveland remnants are that of his incinerated and tattered jersey, aims to inform his former stomping grounds that, “Life moves on, and so should you.” Regardless if LeBron ever publicly says those words, he believes them.

I guess we’ll all know who got the last laugh in a matter of hours.
