Yes I’m still calling LeBron “NorBel” thanks to this wonderful story.
Anyway, let me find out Pitbull Carlos Arroyo has some court vision. He could bear to push the ball like this more often since this is the kind full court offense Miami thrives on. Of course asking Arroyo to dish alleys regularly from half court is ridiculous. But seizing opportunities via uptempo offense makes scoring that much easier for the Heat: especially considering how so many teams have poor transition defense.
Additionally, the pass is more impressive than the dunk. That’s not to say the slam was bad. But this fool set up the dime perfectly. Miami ended up beating Phoenix to the tune of 95-83 without Dwyane Wade. The victory should serve as a proper tune up for Miami’s Christmas showdown with L.A. tomorrow at the Staples Center. In the meantime, I bet Grant Hill saw the play unfold and hearkened back to his glory days at Duke. Then some Johnny Bristol popped in his head as he wreaked havoc on my fantasy league points.

That’s good quarterbacking by Arroyo.
Speaking of dude, I just looked up the other day that Rafer ‘Skip to my Lou’ Alston retired after Miami gave Arroyo his position. Skip can’t ever get a break. 1st Stan Van let’s him lead him to the Finals against the Lakers then he yanks him out of the series to put ,fresh off a 4 month injury, Jameer Nelson in without so much of warm up game. And Jameer was tuurble. Tuurble!
Better go get that international money with Steve Francis, Iverson and Starbery, Skip!
Speakin of Skip to my Lou, do any of y’all think that there could have been some more And-1 to NBA transistions? I always thought that mainly the Professor and maybe Hot Sauce COULD HAVE made it, but I always thought there could have been some more players to make it.
^^^
Professor? Yes I think he could have made it honestly.
Hot Sauce? NOO. lol
The reason why i say that cuz dude was really a perfect example of a lot of style over substance. Dude relied heavily on his flashy crossovers to impress the crowd. Reminds me of the Harlem Globetrotters in a way.
@Cell
If what you’re saying is true about Skip, then that’s a tragedy. smh. Is there any links & any more stories to go along with the Magic & Miami thing?
Not downgrading it because it was a good pass, but as an NBA point guard if you cant make that pass… gtfoh

That’s not an easy play for anyone at any level. If it was routine or easy then we would see those types of passes ALL the time.
^ Lol.
@JBreeze, I just googled my questions based on a convo me and one of my dudes were having. But he left Orlando after they lost in the Finals. And it was all over from there.
I doubt the professor or sauce could really make it. Professor was like 4 feet tall and he didn’t have that much non-And 1 basketball that I seen that would have made a diff. Sauce would have been hard pressed cause of his reputation. He’d have to work double hard to make it. The thing I remember most is that Rafer confessed on the ESPN series that non of the And 1 dudes ever came to him and ask “what got YOU over the hump?” I guess he thought they were too prideful. I really liked Main Events game. And I remember 50 trying out with the Hawks but they weren’t interested.
Street Ball Pro ball.
Nobody gone mention Grant Hill’s high top fade? Lol
Besides Rafer Alston, the only other person I saw making it from And1 was AO. He had the height, the crossover, and a fluid jumpshot. His style was that of a flashy substance. I saw on the show he tried out but just never got over the hump. I wonder what he’s up to now.
@thomas
the reason you dont see it as often is because it takes two players being in the right place without defense around either. its rare that situation comes up. the pass itself is relatively easy. You dont have to put it dead on. ive found it easy to hit one side of the backboard with pretty good regularity from half court. and that was in high school before I really even picked up the game. i think anyone with any type of coordination could make that pass. its still a good pass, but again, if you cant make that pass you shouldnt be in the nba as a point guard.

“^ Lol” was for Pandas. It’s kinda true. It has more to do with the recipient. If he would have lobbed that ball to Bosh, he wouldn’t have pulled that off. But like I said, it was good QBing on Calos’ part.
