T.I. and Chris Brown are vastly opposite artists yet they have much more in common than what appears at the surface level. In the last couple years, both have exposed their demons and consequently been forced to tackle their respective evils head on. After T.I.’s gat and silencer buying incident, he did his part in the community and served his bid, receiving a hero’s welcome upon his release. Conversely, Chris Brown managed to escape jail time after the ill-fated Rihanna incident yet his career took a drastic hit and he’s since struggled to regain the superstardom he once held. As of late, their fortunes have traveled in passing directions again — T.I.’s landed back in jail while Chris seems to be on the rise again after dropping the well-received “Deuces,” both the original and remix.
“Get Back Up” is gold on paper for reasons that run deeper than just the music. Though the video is average, it’s good to see Chris Brown back on his feet, cautiously working to move past his wrongdoings. And while I don’t condone violence against a woman under any circumstance, I do firmly believe in second chances and Chris Brown deserves his. T.I. on the other hand recently blew his second chance and will be locked up through the better part of next year. Hopefully when he gets out next time, he can take a page from young Chris’s book and move beyond his past incidences to focus on revitalizing his once glorious and promising career.

(Sigh)….
if nothing else you gotta admit the lyrics on point
cosign d-treal
im hella disappointd n tip.i constantly defend him nda discussion of best southrn mc ni was patiently awaitn his album evn aftr his lacklustr mixtape.
yeah but the one thing we all gotta admit about Tip, Lyrically he has always been there but conceptually he is in a box if it aint his about his strength in hard times its about his swagg, he fresh, hoes like him, or he buying a hoe something. I wanted to see him expand his shit further than a regular rapper and I thought he was gon do it. Southern Jay-Z? no way he still just T.I.
All the greats came out one thing and ended up another if they did’nt get killed like Andre 3000, Scar Face, even Kanye expanded his vision and mind in one way or another Tip grew to a point but honestly I doubt if we see pass that but I still hope we do.
I want T.I. to succeed even through all this nonsense he put on himself. Hopefully he and Jason Geter studied that Cash Money/Young Money blueprint on how to market your cash cow while he’s locked up.
TI, although I like his music, is something like an 8 time convict. Chris effed up once and has one felony conviction which could be removed from his record in 4 years. Chris is lucky. When Chris was a kid, he was singing. When TI was a kid, a teen and an adult he committed crimes for a living. TI also clearly has a serious drug addiction, and if he doesn’t seriously go to rehab and attend AA or NA meetings, he will get caught again with drugs and go back to jail.
The consequences of that are grave, because it could lead to losing family, children and life. Chris doesn’t seem to have a wife or kids or real responsibilities other than taking care of himself.
I feel so bad for drug addicts like TIP,but if he doesn’t recognize his addiction, it only leads to death or more jail time. And who cares if he is talented, we should want him to get clean because he is a human being, but we as an American society value jails rather than real treatment of addiction. We as a society do not understand the disease of addiction.
I wish TI and his family the best, and I hope Chris continues to see a therapist and never does it again.
i love it. fuck all yall haters !
