Since you can’t have a rainbow without some sort of precipitation lingering in the air, it’s fitting that Talib’s first leak from his upcoming Gutter Rainbows is “Cold Rain.” With Ski Beatz helming the boards, Kweli contiues to spit that “hostile gospel” for anyone within earshot. Honestly, these two have been on one hell of a run this year and neither did anything to slow down their respective momentum here.

What really caught my eye was the press releases states that Gutter Rainbows will be released in all formats throughout the rest of the world but only in digital format in North America. Those words probably don’t mean much to a lot of people these days, but the digital only release does put some in a precarious situation if they deem the final project worthy of their ducats.

I’m somewhat thrown by these recent Dr. Dre leaks. The only plausible ideas are that the label is placing the songs out as bait to stir the fishes and garner attention or a culprit managed to sneak in and crack Dre’s infamous vaults, slinking away with tracks to share with the Net.
