I put the word out about this crap at the tail end of the summer and, unsurprisingly, we have a heaping load of manure to clog record store shelves just in time for the holidays. No disrespect because the King stays the King but Michael Jackson wasn’t hot nearly a decade before his death and there’s no way Sony can use his demise to convince anyone otherwise. This type of trash needed to stay in the vault to prevent head shaking moments like the one that’s upon us now.
All of this is coming in the midst of reports of Katherine Jackson stating that freshly leaked material are “false tracks” submitted by MJ’s associates. If you listen to the first single “Breaking News” from the awesomely-titled Michael, set to be released December 14th, you can hear that the track is indeed beefed up on background singers. Even Tito’s son says it’s pretty fuhgazzi.

Having so much respect for Michael… and as a fan… it is very difficult for me to read that… however, it is true. His current status was marred by allegations and he was not free to make music… but still.
Hard pill to swallow.
His legacy shall forever remain as one of the greatest however.

This is very true and it makes me smile to see. One of my friends… her daughter is 7 and she plays “Thriller” all of the time – and not by the urging or encouragement of her parents at all. She made the decision to be a fan on her own.
My own niece (whom is just 2) dances to his music every time it is on – and she is very particular about her tastes in music – already. She dances to what moves her… and stays still to what does not… and Michael’s music simply does.
Michael just made some great music.
P.S. I refuse to listen to anything like the above. I have no idea what it sounds like and I prefer to keep it that way.

With that said, “Butterflies” was his last classic record. A true testament to his (and Marsha’s) artistry. R.I.P.
