As promised, Hammer delivers his tune directed at Jay, after being offended by a passing line by the latter. There aren’t many who would classify the Oakland entertainer as being a deft wizard at the mic but…this is god awful. With a month to prepare, I was hoping to to hear a track that contained a few shits and giggles. Instead, “Better Run Run” may go down as one of the most awkward & lacking diss songs ever, almost as if even Hammer forgot what he was supposed to be peeved about in the first place and methinks he may be better served challenging Jay to a good old-fashioned dance-off where the odds are more in his favor. The effects of “Run…” could have a completely opposite effect as The Funky Headhunter may have overthrown Benzino as the shittiest rapper ever.
What do we think about Hammer © MC Serch.

Really…..the most offensive thing about this whole tragic situation is that we actually thought Hammer was going to come with something and torch Jay….
If you a .270 hitter in baseball for 10 years what the hell makes you think that they gonna hit .330 going out? Unless it’s the minors.
Hammer can’t even get Summer Jam’d, it’s that bad.
There better ways of getting your name in the papers; go rob a bank or something.
Ha….
THIS IS INCREDIBLE
It’s a one man masterclass in making yourself look like a clueless, talentless tit.
The intro alone left me unable to comprehend the depths of the mental illness that Hammer is clearly in the grip of – is it supposed to be mocking Jay’s ‘CEO’ status? Is renting a meeting room on the third floor of an anonymous building with a featureless view over an anonymous town the best way to mock a successful businessman who is more accustomed to the sweeping vistas afforded by penthouses in Manhattan?
I ache with embarrassment.
Wow. Hammer is wack. You can’t be dancing in a diss video.
oh yeah id forgotten about the fact that he sounds exactly like petey pablo now, fortunately he only channeled his inner Petey on the hook this time, his last song I heard he did it the whole time. Actually coming up with words that rhyme together is so 90s. “Out” rhymes with “out” just fine
I think it should be written into the Hip Hop Bible that a diss track should include at least one 16-bar verse.
Hammer brought Lunchables to the President’s Dinner.
this is the wackest wack shit that ever wacked in the history of wackdom….wack ass shit!!!
See what the youtube conspiracy theorists did? You done made a senile old man, a legend in this game, embarrass himself. This is on them.
was that a baptism at the end of the video?! what?!
Awesome stuff…really tho. So fucking bad its good,,,, what a fruitcake
Whoa! Don’t know what I just saw here.
*backs out slowly*
Hammer still has better flow than 90% of the southern fucktards that get promo on this site. Wakaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
SMDH (Sigh) There he go wasting money again! I should sue him cause that’s 5 mins & 9 seconds of my life I’ll never get back! So if your so hollier-than thou, why do you wanna hurt someone who told the truth & stated a fact? I used to respect Hammer but he coulda just said he still has a problem being the running joke of hip hop, and he can’t afford to be touching anyone anyways
This shit looks like an MMA commercial meets a bad Ciara videoshoot.

This.
looool hammer tried to take a two line diss from jay and turn in into a comeback for his career…this song isn’t even a diss its just a regular dance song that hammer would make with a few references to jay z and the devil
*Every comment except Jose’s
Sorry but Gucci and Flocka would’ve made a better diss song than that. Even Lil’ B had some lines on his Budden diss.
What I don’t get is why Hammer didn’t address the reason he did do a diss in the first place. Did he even care about the illuminati rumors before Jay said what he said?

There’s always at least one Joker in the room lol

I’m telling y’all, I seen him on Twitter. When “So Appalled” dropped he was tweeting Kanye all excited about to check out the song. Then he heard and deleted his tweet and went of his crusade. Clown shit.
please hammer, don’t hurt my ears.
poor guy. i love a good diss track but this is terrible.
f**k. outta. here. hammer. (*laughs until headache ensues*) This is one of the funniest 5:09 minutes of my life … thank you Stanley Burrell (*continues laughter, tears stream down face*) wackness personified.
HAHA, this is the reason Jay wrote “Dig A Hole”…how many more lames are going to Ether their own career while trying to go at Jay. Hammer would have been able to knock down the Empire State Building using a paper airplane quicker than he could own Jay on a track. Hammer wasn’t relevant even back when people actually bought his stupid albums. Don’t let the old heads talk about “yo, Hammer was hot”. NOPE you lying fucks , he wasn’t hot. How could he be hot, when he was dropping albums during De La, BDP, PE NWA, and Ice T to name a few. Where would I find time to listen to that silly fuckstain? I wouldn’t, I didn’t, and I will not. I will however take a dump later today that will definitely be better than this fuckin song and video.
this is fcuking ridiculous. stanley done tripped out.
Wow. Reading the comments here & getting a good genuine laugh in made me forget about the deep regret I felt for pushing play on that video (if only for a moment). You all went in! Hats off to you TSS.
@JD
You maybe too young to remember, but there was a time when Hammer was a relevant artist. He opened the door for rappers to get endorsements, put other people on, and gave PLENTY of people jobs. Also, Hammer is still well respected in Oakland. I bet my last buck you wouldn’t run up on Hammer either. This whole Hammer/Jay situation is wack, but he has seen better times.
Come on ya’ll Hammer gonna kill Jay-Z. Wait for part 2 & 3, and the album coming soon. King Hammer Reigns! Bring on the accordian pants my ninja.
All joking aside, he IS better than 90% of southern rappers. hahaha
The Funky Headhunter may have overthrown Benzino as the shittiest rapper ever.

I mean reallly. What did we all just watch? There has to be someone I can blame for this.
ETHER 2010.
At Since 1979, since I am 1976, I guess I’ve got you beat. Now, if you’re ready to drop knowledge on a youngster
A. Make sure he is one
B. Make sure your hiphop knowledge is VAST…
As your’s is not. He opened doors for Oaktown’s 357 and the Too Bigg MC which neither are exactly blowing up are they? Oh wait, did they ever blow up? NOPE. Now, you tell me where you were when you had a choice between Straight Outta Compton, or Fear of A Black Planet, and some new Hammer album. Did you buy Hammer? If so, log off and step onto the freeway into traffic. He was never hot. He was liked by a few non hiphop knowing heads in the sdame vain of a Wacka Flocka Flame. But let’s be honest, Wacka is one huge piece of shit. If he goes plat, does that mean he’s hot?? Nope. It just means he found a shitload of people who are as gullible as the 1980′s Hammer fans.
Oh, and real quick….Heiroglyphics is respected in Oakland. Not Hammer.
@JD
Fam please!!! Hammer did his thing fam. He wasn’t a dope MC lyrically, but he did his thing. Hammer toured with NWA and PE!! Whether the groups were to your liking don’t matter….HE PUT FOLKS ON!!!! I got folk out there, and he still gets love for putting folks to work. Oh and I copped Hammer, NWA, and PE!!! Good music is good music. Hammer is nowhere near a Waka.
Oh and I’ve been buying Hip Hop since 1985, so my knowledge is Vast brotha. Not my mother buying, I’ve been buying!!
Hammer is a wack MC; but when he was selling records. He did give a lot of people jobs. That partially lead to his bankruptcy. As far as Hammer being respected in Oakland, he is respected. Not for his rhyming skills but for the fact he never forgot where he came from and he tried to help as many people from Oakland as he could. Let me also say this, when 3rd Bass diss him, 3rd bass couldn’t step foot in Oakland. Hammer had those goons ready to set it on them. Hammer had a no fly zone before Detroit. lol
Hammer made music to dance to and party to. You got to accept that for what it is. I didn’t listen to Hammer expecting Kane or G Rap!! I look at it like this; if Hammer wack so are Kid and Play, Heavy D, Kwame, or any other dude who was rapping and dancing back then. Fact of it is all of those groups were good and I’m a fan of all of them.
i’ll never forget that chokeslam/ baptism at the very end lmao!

Heavy D can rhyme; Hammer can’t see Heavy D on the mic.
opening scene door opens:
Tah Tah walks into Jay-Z’s office at rock nation
Tah- Jay Hammer was for real man he released the dis video like he said he would on Halloween (breathing heavy from running frantically to office)
Jay-Z- Who? fuck outta here how can a hammer do a video.. roc-a-fella yall ha haa (smiles *Tiiing*)
Tah- Nooo no Hammer Mc Hammer!(then proceeds to go into a 45 min explanation of who Hammer is and why he’s mad)
45 mins later…
Jay-Z- Ok now Who?
@Bigga
I own “Big Tyme” Heavy wasn’t reinventing the wheel when he rapped. Like I said I like both. Both were dope artist to me. Now Hammer got on some BS later ie that Addams Family stuff, Pumps and a Bump, etc. Heavy stayed in his lane and still makes good music to this day.
This is the 1st diss video with back up dancers.
Man I wish Teef was here. He always knew what to say in these situations.
I thought he was going to break something with him “poppin and lockin.” That shit ain’t good for them bones.haha! But in all seriousness. I’m not mad at him for going at Jay, nor for making the video. I’m mad at the fact he tried to play like Jay’s line encourage him to make this diss record. Bullshit! Stop lying. You know you had that shit waiting, and you just needed a reason to “expose” him. And like other artist conspiracy videos, it lacked the evidence.(you know, the stuff needed to actually prove a point.)Kinda sad how black men/women can’t be successful without being accused of selling their souls. BY THEIR OWN PEOPLE! J.Edgar Cocksucker Hoover would be proud. You better put more into this Hammer. This ain’t lookin legit, therefore, you should quit.
As bad as this was, he’s still saying as much as Jay is saying nowadays, pretty much nothing
“That dude tried to steal my swag/ his fingerprints all over the bag”
*cooked*
Today’s my birthday. I really should be doing better things with it but this is just too fun.
but even if its whack jay z wont say shit, cuz its true….gay z needed to make a billion dollars and sell out to get a fine chick, hammer pointed that out… then hammer challenged the nigga to a fight if he wanna say something….hammer will handle that dude….i like this song.v plus thats an ill rebel spirit shirt he got on.
“Please Hammer Don’t Hurt” Em opened the doors for the massive commericialization of Hip Hop. If you were around back then you remember Hammer Man cartoons, Hammer lunch boxes and Hammer appearing in all sorts of commericials (ex. Pepsi). In a way Hammer had a hand in Jay-Z being able to become a businessman as a Hip Hop artist.
Needless to say Jay did better with his money. Hammer never was great or even good on the mic so this awful “diss” record doesn’t surprise me. However, to discredit Hammer’s contribution to Hip Hop on the business-side simply because he spent his money like an Obama-crat and has zero mic skills really misses what that one album did for Hip Hop and Hip Hop artists in business.
“Please Hammer Don’t Hurt Em” was the number one selling album for 21 weeks. It was the first hip-hop album certified diamond by the RIAA for sales of over ten million.
Don’t sleep on the Hammer man.
im pretty sure Jay is gonna commit suicide afta hearing this…Hammer bodied him
@mortis
(1)any clout he created from the older stuff has been long forgotten 20 years might as well be a hundred in hip hop.
(2)those who still held him in the corners of their mind have now officially deleted him with this trash
(3)i cant believe wit that much time in the game and a comeback of td jakes proportions his advisers did not stop this trainwreck
shame on you hammer… shame
“im pretty sure Jay is gonna commit suicide afta hearing this…Hammer bodied him”
muerto
c section always holds me down.way 2go n on hammr (ie da guy nda speedo wit da boner).i dont kno if i wanna NOT watch ths vid just 2c wht all da fuss is about…
@cell
happy bday my scorpio bro.
*as video finishes wit tht epic rock bottom baptismal*
woooooooooooooow….ok so wait is hammr jesus?
…also the devil needs a norelco.shits lookn kinda scruffy.! lol
i didn’t know weezy could dance
I might be going to hell for this comment but…oh well.
If Jesus makes you rhyme like that, I’m down with Satan…Put your diamonds up!!!
“Heavy stayed in his lane and still makes good music to this day”

Heavy D Still Makes Music!? Just The Thought Of That Is Awesome.
most mature(as in age) rap battle ever?
Song is terrible, but Hammer baptizing “Jay” at the end was classic.
You haters better run run. New rules is you have to back up what you say. He’s gonna bust you in the mouf if he knocks on your door. And baptize you. LOL.
Mc Hammer Gets the GASSSS FACEEEEE
that shit was about 98% retarded
This is ridiculous. Talk about someone who is absolutely not important or paid attention to. Go away Hammer. You are a nobody.
“When keeping it real goes wrong,” Dammit hammer you smoking that rock 2?
