Offense – Isiah Thomas, former coach of the New York Knicks, also played basketball a couple of decades ago. During his basketball days, he and his Pistons were the punching bag of choice for Larry Bird and his Celtics. After the Celts eliminated Thomas and his Bad Boys from the 1987 playoffs, the point guard went all reverse racist-y on us and said that Larry Bird was “meh” and only considered great because he’s white. We disagree: he’s great because he stole a horrible inbounds pass during the playoffs, homie. Don’t worry, though. Bird got his revenge later when he took over the Pacers and promptly fired Thomas from his head coaching position.
Attacker — Scottie Pippen
Victim — Karl Malone
Offense — Game 1. NBA Finals. 1997. Karl Malone is at the free throw line with a chance to put the Jazz out of reach. Pippen strolls up to the free throw line and says “Remember, the mailman doesn’t deliver on Sunday.” Malone, the reigning and undeserving MVP, missed his free throws, allowing Jordan to go to the other side of the court and drain a game winner. We’re not sure if it was Pippen’s trash talking or God smiting Malone for being a douche of a dad that actually made him miss. Whatever it was, the clank is legendary.

I’m extra sensitive to racial taunts (no really BC?) as they are usually indicative of larger issues beyond sports. to that end, the Bill Romo, Zoeller stuff is on a whole other level in my book.
but to be fair, being from Chicago when KG was in high school, it’s been long known that KG is pretty much a dick. he’s always struggled with that “I’m a big black dude so I gotta be tough” model even though he’s really not. he’s always gone too far with the cussing, trash talking and “I’m a warrior” crap. he did it in high school and has done it his whole life. KG went to 3 high schools in 4 years. When he announced he was joining Farragut HS for his senior year, we thought we had won the NBA lottery… Nobody and I mean NObody believer KG was going to college. He was from SC or some small place and had been plotting the leap from high school since he was like 13. A Chicago high school or NYC– he was looking at high schools out here,too– gave him the best platorm mediawise to attract scouts. this is pre innerweb, so location still mattered for exposure.
I swear watching KG route our school when I was in like 8th grade… He was the tallest guy on the court almost every game and Ronnie Fields in the backcourt doing all of Jordan’s old dunks better than Jordan at like 6’2…

I do not know how Gotty™ had the foresight to do what he did here at TSS (again, going back to being hosted with Blogger). While everyone else was (and still are mind you) either:
a) Basically nothing more than online gossip sites that just happen(ed) to focus on music and musicians.
b) Posting music links with (or sometimes without even) a sentence or two.
Gotty™ built a place where the words, music (and choice of it), topics, and even the visitors became a part of a place that is their own email, Facebook, Yahoo, Google, etc. – meaning most make this place their first visit of the day (and continue to visit many times over the course of a day).
Again, it turned out to be a model that others simply cannot match. It is just as Snitches Get Stiches said… it is posts like these…
Now we just have to pull a Rakim… think of a master plan… and get some corporation with millions to purchase a stake (with Gotty™ retaining the controlling interest), be willing to let things run as they always have without input or changing a thing (but bring in the expertise of monetary gain to the table)…
