When we brought up Die Antwoord and their immensely-engaging “Enter the Ninja” video a few months back, this South African trio had the masses talking. However since they began buzzing, Ninja, Yo-Landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek had been relatively covert. That was until Wednesday night, when the Interscope act crept from the shadows once again – with nothing but an Internet buzz – to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and surprise an audience of millions.
If you’re down for different, cop their new album $0$, which hit shelves this week.

That was different.
And that little girl frightens me.
lmao, it took me a while to find out that the little girl is a grown woman. if i’m not mistaken, they’re married (her and the one guy).
Just checked em out on Youtube and this song had 8million views. They’re doing something right.
She is the female white version of flava flave mixed with the dude from the gorillahs!
I feel like I’m gettin’ CB4′d somehow
great moustache
love these guys, they truly transcend music
I swear some kids these day dress like they’re in the Joker’s gang or somethin
“I swear some kids these day dress like they’re in the Joker’s gang or somethin” <– good one dude!
Not.
and this music is nothing short of garbage and it should never be performed live. That was dreadful and their shelf life will be shorter than a new born's wiener.
I been feeling them since the first post about them….and I must say, if you listen to the lyrics…..he has something to say. and they get busy as a group.
All I know, is that their hair stylist has a great sense of humor and they don’t question him.
That lead guy kind of reminds me of yelawolf… except Yela is a lot better and raps about way different shit.
A midget, a tatted up giraffe, and a dude that jacked a dope dj’s name? naaahh
Okay, so the joke with this lot is that they’re obviously ridiculous but they take themselves very seriously – it’s basically a spoof of how seriously rap takes itself right?
That’s okay in the short term, but where do they take it from here?
I think its supposed to be something like the Lonely Island. Ya know, “Jizz in My Pants” “I’m on a Boat” ft. T-Pain, “Like a Boss”. Is that right? I just watched those two Die Antwoord videos that y’all posted a while ago. I’m guessing its kinda like that but since we don’t know them as comedians or performers we just find it weird.
Oh and someone please clear up the whole DJ Hi-Tek thing because that’s spelled just like the Cincinnati one…
love them – saw them here in Portland Oct 14th
FABULOUS!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owOkYP4Rpdg
in response to those worried about their shelf life -
they made a deal with Interscope for a 5 record deal including the current one. And then they will be shelving Die Antwoord.
Genius.
And after we push aside all the ‘art’ and the ‘irony’ we get to the music. It’s shit.
Have their fans not listened to any other electronic or hip hop before? There’s nothing new here. The beats are dull and the rap is the same-old-same-old. It’s not particulary strange or provocative. It’s not the vanguard of something new. It’s not much of anything. These musically retarded fans of theirs better turn their ears to other music so they can clue in on how banal and tedious Die Antwoord is. Yeah, DA might be geniuses but their fans are complete morons.
So Zef, indeed!
Sounds better when they don’t censor. I’m amused that they censored the Afrikaans cursing, too.
It’s crazy to see the main guy go from Constructis Corporation to MaxNormal.tv to this and now actually be known in the US.
Whether people like it or not, they are doing something right. They haven’t gotten this wellknown because they sound like crap to everyone.
