While I understand that Waka’s music has a sometimes emotional link with young black males it has to stop. Let me reiterate” IT HAS TO STOP!” This is if we as a people want to advance as a people. We cannot allow blind ignorant music like this to plague us any longer. Sure, Waka is not the most ignorant rapper but he is just entirely too dumb to let pass. The audience range of his music is most of America’s youth and ironically this is the very age group that needs to be steered clear of this type of music. Another topic to be surfaced is the very music he makes, the anger towards law enforcement, the unending loyal to his “crew”, and lastly violent ignorant references is ironically what has held Black America back for years. Wearing lots of jewelry and rapping about how he has an unmistakable hate for the music industry is a direct reflection of hypocrisy. How can one stand against and nullify the very institution they are amicably trying to succeed in? Lastly although I hate saying this I do not know if Waka is a victim of the vicious circle many African Americans face or a brilliant industry marketing campaign aimed at replacing our leader with one that could easily destroy our future.
