That “Lost In The World” leak yesterday screwed up this week’s G.O.O.D. Friday, according to Kanye West. The man of the moment took to his Twitter to make the announcement.
“It’s messed up that one hacker can mess everything up for everyone… I love to take a year to finish my songs and deliver them to you guys in their most completed form. It would have seemed like since I give free music every week even the lowest form of human being would respect that enough not to leak unfinished songs from my real album.”
I can’t rightfully disagree with his logic but I’m calling Duck Tales anyways. There’s no doubt that he’ll take a week off from G.O.O.D. Fridays but there’s no complaints from me there because we know he’ll be back with heat. What I still don’t understand how the Auto-Tuned track was a part of the upcoming album when there have been several reports from people involved with the project saying there would be no vocal enhancements used.
That and nobody believes it when entertainers say “hackers” attacked.

Don’t matter if it was a hacker or just an unscrupulous employee, shit’s wack when they do that. And I know it’s part of a blogger’s job, but when all the blogs just run with it, like, “Oh, look what we got!” instead of shutting it down for the artist’s sake… I can see where he would get upset. Anybody would.
I think what he says makes sense so I ain’t tripping. And i’m glad he handled it w/candor instead of going bonkers.

If you wanna check out the auto-tuned voice (in it’s entirety) check out Bon Iver “Blood Bank”….it’s sick. Justin Vernon the main influence/writer behind Bon Iver is rumoured to have worked on 10 trax with Ye. Also, “For Emma, Forever Ago” is fucking classic. When I mean classic, I mean 25 years from now that album will still be easy-listening smoke out and forget you girl problems ish. So fresh!!!
From what I am hearing (everyone is hitting me up about it), all signs point to “Lost in the World” being the reason behind his decision.
i dont think ye is dumb enough to think the album wont leak in its time; its more about the fact of unfinished material leaking that bugged him.
They say its like your baby, but really i think it comes down to the image in your head of what you want it to sound like and know it will, WHEN its ready.
The fact that ‘fans’ would settle for less than that quality does kinda irk, knowing what it could be, and taking the raw, uncooked steak instead of the filet mignon. He figures, well if thats what yall wanna eat, why go back in the kitchen and cook something new.

The voice effects on the “lost in the world” song isn’t Kanye, it’s Justin Vernon from Bon Iver. It’s a sample of his auto-tuned song, “woods”, and in an interview Vernon said that he added some vocal effects over the sample. Even so, who cares? That shit knocks.
Mark my words, Drake is going to drop an absolute brick on “All of the Lights” and ruin that song. Drake + Kanye is a failed recipe whenever it happens.
I do like the incomplete version that got upped here. A lot going on with the beat without it seeming overly busy like some of ‘Ye’s recent work has.

I don’t get it either. The both basically did the same thing and had similar reason behind their actions. Maybe it’s because with Kanye people are used to his rants ie hissy fits. With Lupe, his stance about having his material leaked coupled with how he handled the whole hip hop honors/tribe thing; he came off arrogant and petulant.
Simple … people wanna hear Ye’s music . Ye put in more work to put out fan pleasing music. Lupe be gassed on himself. And he belabored the point too.

Honestly, the hacker excuse is getting real old. I support everyone and still buy music. I’ve bought every Kanye album via pre-order or on the first day of its release, but saying you’ve been hacked is bull to me.
Why am I calling this bullsh**? What’s happening in Atlanta this week…BET Hip Hop awards. Even though I believe that Kanye will drop great music, but after Kanyegate and 808 Heartbreak many believed Kanye was done. Numerous articles were written that Kanye has lost his mind and he’s pretty much done. Even “Runaway” received a fair response by many hip hop heads and industry insiders.
I ask you this question: “What’s the best way to know if your album is wood or platinum?” Answer: Leak a few tracks and see how many blog sites jump on it. See what the feedback is via twitter. Then turn around and tweet out to your 1.1M followers that there will be no G.O.O.D Friday track and see if anyone will be disappointed. Folks this is PR 101. Not only did 1000s of blogs run his single, but 1000s of blogs are writing about his G.O.O.D Friday tweet.
I think it’s time for us to toast Kanye West for yet another successful marketing move. Damn, you really have to love this dude’s brain. Leak your own tracks and then angrily deny it by saying you were hacked, but follow up the tweet with “…We’ve got 4 engineers mixing the album to finish it as soon as possible.”
