Eminem has D-12. Curtis enlisted G-Unit. Ludacris hyped DTP. Nas brought us The Bravehearts. Jeezy put on the USDA Crew. And, of course, Neighborhood Nipsey shares the corner with his crew The Slauson Boyz. Amidst all of the aforementioned offspring of artists we know and love, not too many of them have panned out to be more than an associated act. It’s easy to assume the same for Mr. Hussle’s gang and their debut tape, There Goes The Neighborhood, but who wouldn’t want to share some spotlight?
After all, like a wise friend of mine told me, “What’s the fun in pulling up in a Lexus, if your crew isn’t pulling up right next to you in their own?”

This had me thinking today….. has anyone from a Star’s crew ever emerged as his own star? All I can think of is older ones like Memph Bleek and DPG. Is Lloyd Banks the best choice? Young Chris?
