Honorable Mention: Lil Jon/Franchize Boys/the Knuck If You Buck Guys…basically anyone that made Crunk music circa 2005 — We know what you’re wondering: what are you going to do with all those XXXXL lime green five-for-$20 shirts? Maybe they’d make good table skirts. Snappin’ fingers and doin’ the step has been replaced with the Dougie, cookin’ and whatever low-IQ malarky Hip-Hop’s short bus riders can come up with. Now that we think about it, maybe the Crunk guys weren’t so bad.

You’ll be eating those words against GZA when Liquid Swords 2 drops.
OUTKAST??? NIGGA PLUUUUUUULEEZ!
You’ll be eating those words against GZA when Liquid Swords 2 drops.
=====================================================================
And GZA will be forced to eat cat food when Liquid Swords 2 comes out. Man Souljah boy ethered him = career Fatality!!!
Dr. Dre will be back. His legacy is hinging on it.
The rest of these cats?
Only place you’ll see them is on the back of a milk carton.
Outkast… I’ve almost come to terms…you’re never coming back are you?
that Honorable Mention is so true …so true
Honorable mention is true.
Are we forgetting Da Brat?
And OutKast? NEVER! I refuse to believe!
DONT MESS WITH THE KAST THEY WILL BE BACK
I think we should define “coming back” before we proceed to shit on some of these guys.
Lil Jon produced Big Boi’s Hustle Blood. He’ll still get work.
And Crunk ain’t dead.
Ask Waka Flocka.
ok let me add 10 more to this list:
1.Too $hort
2.Eight ball and MJG (despite all the recent shit we’ve seen)
3.Master P
4.Ice Cube (matter of fact West Side Connection)
5.Juvenile
6.AZ
7.Foxy Brown (that almost totally does it for the firm LOL!)
8.D12
9.Memphis Bleek
10.Daz and Kurupt (despite their most recent attempts)
Coming Back = Returning to their previous level of commercial/critical acclaim. And this list is full of cats who have seen the mountain top but will never return.
Yeah. Juvie is finito. A Hot Boyz album won’t save his career.
@ D-Treal…I saw D-12 perform at the house of blues in n.o….in front of 15 people. So sad.
Coming Back = Returning to their previous level of commercial/critical acclaim. And this list is full of cats who have seen the mountain top but will never return.
^^^^^^^
In that case, one could accurately state that pretty much every rapper out right now, save the ones with potential that haven’t debuted yet, falls in this category.
Mobb Deep
so glad to see this revelation about outkast made here at tss.
as a group they are dead…its a wrap el finito.
Nelly’s single [Just A Dream] has done well commercially & I’m sure people will like “Tippin’ In The Club” (I, personally, am indifferent about it).
I’m still holding on to hope for Outkast..lol
In that case, one could accurately state that pretty much every rapper out right now, save the ones with potential that haven’t debuted yet, falls in this category.
——————-\\
Yea this about sums THAT up.
It’s actually harder to make a list of artist that have remained in the top tier spot light level for more than 5 years.
matter of fact the only one who has on that list is probably Dre. Maybe DMX if you were one of those ones that listened to any of his albums after FOMFBOMB
^^
The List.
–
Jay-Z
Eminem
Snoop Dogg
T.I. (will make that list)
I’m runnin low on names…
@David D
15 people ?
damn that is sad
oh yeah can I add
~LL Cool J
~Trick Daddy
~Goodie Mob
~Dead Prez
~Xibit (Damn how could we forget Xibit)
to that list
they pretty much done to…
what about Mystical????
In that case, one could accurately state that pretty much every rapper out right now, save the ones with potential that haven’t debuted yet, falls in this category.
=======================
There are a lot of artists who haven’t peaked yet.
Done Dotta!
Mystical done dada!
Gza never left. Pro Tools and Grandmasters are great projects.
Lumping Gza in with those other guys is a little unfair. He NEVER tried to make hits, or pander to radio. His style of rap just isn’t in right now. I think that Liquid Swords 2 will sell just as much as Cuban Linx 2. Good post though.
This was a great read. lol Good job. Sooooooo, what about Justin Timberlake? He was winning at one point…
Eve?
Dipset? (I know this will piss off Tinsley but its over for them…)
i got to disagree with putting GZA on there. grandmasters and pro tools were both dope. he just doesnt try to be something he is not. and in hip pop you get punished for that nowadays.
Well if we are going by AmpGeez’s definition, then I’m going to say Alicia Keys and Usher, They’re doing well for themselves but earlier in their carrers were a lot better. Escpecially with Usher. “Confessions” was his “Illmatic.”
I refuse to believe outkast
This is very true for many, but let’s leave GZA and Outkast out of this. They deliver consistent sh&t, and we ALL know if Kast dropped a CD tomorrow, they would be right back at the top in minutes. You can’t lump them in with Ja Fuckin Rule and Nelly. Oh yeah, how does that Crunk Juice taste, all you fuckin nerds who actually liked that bullshit ass music Lil Jon put out? Oh, who the fuck are the Eastside Boyz and what the fuck do they do? They did less than Spigg Nice in the Lost Boyz. At least he stood still and shut the fuck up! TO the fuckin hump who said Soulja Boy ethered GZA, then I guess we have no choice than to ether your mom.
“Selling a LeBron jersey in Cleveland is more feasible than this guy ever returning to prominence.” – I beg to differ! lol
yea Bigga i hope you are kidding about Soulja Boy getting at GZA. Soulja Boy ether’s himself everytime he opens his mouth.
link to what soulja BOY (let me emphasize boy) said about GZA. just shows how little he knows about the people who paved the way for him. how little respect he has for the people who allow him to collect his little coke and prostitute money he flaunts everyday.
Mobb Deep never fell off regardless of what Blood Money sold.
P just went to jail.
Who decided to throw stones at D’Angelo… He was just sitting there at his piano…eating…sniffing…not bothering NOBODY…
He’s an R&B cat for crissakes!
Seriously though, I hope he gets his act together. Men need cats like D’Angelo in the changer to offset some of this fruity garbage passing itself of as R&B.
D’Angelo’s 1st 2 albums = classic material
Dipset could get it back, but mainly from the Cam & Vado (if included) side. Cam is still relative.
Mobb Deep has lost a step because P hasn’t focused on his lyricism in a long time… I’d love it though, if they dropped an album.
‘Kast is ‘Kast… Stop fronting. They’re too intelligent and to lyrical as individuals and a group to drop some hot garbage (that wasn’t a soundtrack). I HOPE they bless the fans.
Lauryn could make a return as well. Too talented w/no gimmicks in her prime to not give her the benefit of the doubt.
Dipset? (I know this will piss off Tinsley but its over for them…
===================
They’re just getting their second wind. I wouldn’t count them out yet.
Just cause Juelz fell back doesn’t mean he fell off.
I hate to say it, but Mobb Deep are closet being added. It depends what P has cooked up since 07.
I agree with Amp. Mobb Deep has some of the most loyal fans you will find.
the mighty mos def . . . sad to say
TO the fuckin hump who said Soulja Boy ethered GZA, then I guess we have no choice than to ether your mom.
=======================================================================
yea Bigga i hope you are kidding about Soulja Boy getting at GZA. Soulja Boy ether’s himself everytime he opens his mouth.
=======================================================================
I wasn’t joking. Gza played himself by even wasting his breath on SB. SB goes on you tube and cracks jokes on Gza making him look dumber than he looked by even mentioning Sb in the 1st place. I won’t even bring up the 50 diss track; 50 won without even responding, that tells you how wack that diss was. I am not saying SB is a better MC than Gza; but he did shut Gza down with his you tube assault.
And to the cat talking foolish bout “ethering” my mother; it is obvious to me you are an asshole. So what if I think SB made Gza look like an ass, without spitting a rhyme. Does that mean you can’t be a fan of Gza? No you asshole it doesn’t. So continue to talk foolish from the safety of your mother’s basement, garage, school’s library, or wherever you internet tough guys do your thing.
I would just like to say Mase is one of the greatest rappers of all time…
I would just like to say Mase is one of the greatest rappers of all time…
^^^
Yep. Just like Drag-On.
@bigga
i feel you… but at the same time i can fully understand getting frustrated with the likes of 50 and soulja boy fucking up everything you worked so hard to help put on the map. so frustrated that you feel you have to voice your displeasure. i think soulja boy’s response shows who he is (just another stupid motherfucker who let money shape him into who he is/personifies, same thing) just as 50 cents response shows who he is (savvy business man/ smart enough to realize lyrically he would get slaughtered). either way that situation did nothing to harm GZA’s career, if he comes out with another album, it will be dope, just like everything else he does.
I’m surprised Charles Hamilton didn’t make this list. Not because he deserves to be on it, but because it’s easier to throw his career in the toilet by his oddball antics. Regardless, of the artists mentioned on this list, two of them stand a chance for a career re-assurance (in my opinion).
1. Ja Rule. Here’s why: how many Ja Rule songs do you have in your collection? Even if you don’t own one Ja record, you probably have songs that he wrote for other artists that you never knew about. He has obscure songs from The Mirror and other mixtapes that aren’t half bad. I’d bet this guy could catapult off 50 Cent’s inability to do anything relevant and surprise the industry with something. I do remember people talking about his verse on One Blood and that was at the height of Ja’s career being finished.
2. Nelly. Here’s why: he makes songs that cross genres. Tim McGraw? Kelly Rowland? Plus, he has a loyal hometown following. When you think of St. Louis, who do you think of on the hip-hop tip? Chingy? Psh. Nelly brought the Lunatics to the forefront in the late 90′s and early 2000′s. This dude is a savvy businessman and he knows what sells and what doesn’t. Yes, his last album sucked. But even your favorite MC has dropped less than stellar albums, but they always come back with new material that inspires. Nelly has something to talk about… just listen to “Just A Dream”. Does it work for hip-hop heads? Probably not, but the ladies will eat this shit up. And who is still shopping and buying records nowadays?
Oh, and DMX will have a hot album… when he relapses. “GRRRR YEAH GOD DAWG YEAH GOSPEL DOG ARF ARF ARF SWIZZ WHERE MY COKE?”. Instant classic.
Panda: 50 and Sb has nothing to do with why his solo projects aren’t selling. It’s the fact that the Gza’s fan base for the most part don’t support him finacially. They will download his shit for free; then knock others for not support that real hip hop. And I am not saying that all his fans are like that; but he has enough of them to where he feels SB is taking money out of his pocket. Which is not the case..
You skipped my no. 1 never-coming-back-rapper!
SHYNE
exchange outkast for foxy brown and we have a deal…
@ Bigga: Real talk my ninja. Although, I must say that GZA and pretty much the other less prominent members of the Wu have a loyal underground following. Don’t worry though my TSS brethren, it looks as if Souljah Boy is about to get ethered by Fabolous for talking sideways on Twitter!
Dre hasn’t stopped making hits or money, he just hasn’t put out an album since 2001. That’s a little different than the rest of these cats (besides ‘Kast) who mostly fell the fuck off. The fact that fans are still clamoring for Detox after all these years shows you that Dre the producer hasn’t fallen off at all.
@bigga
but this article is artists who will never come back. i think thats too much of a stretch at this point considering pro tools was 2009… i think.
at this point considering pro tools was 2009… i think.
^^^
2008. And it was honored here: [smokingsection.uproxx.com]
Don’t let your allegiance to the good ‘ol days blind you to what’s really going on. And just because you’re making music, doesn’t make you “back.”
Look, I know for a FACT, and y’all do too, that GZA would RAPE SB in a one-on-one. And if you consider yourself a hip-hop fan, you know that is what makes a superior emcee. So YouTube? Irrelevant. If SB wants to step up to GZA, then let him. We all know what’ll happen.
Addendum:
50 Cent – Just cause you on Twitter don’t mean you can make hit records anymore. Get over yourself already. You’re DONE.
@TC
thats if you think he left… GZA is a substance over volume rapper. i dont see why if i like music from “the good ol days” that it is a problem. I dont see him as having left. if he never makes another album then ok, he will not have been back. but he never fell off. period. I apologize if i focus on lyrics too much but thats what i like. I love peter rock and cl smooth. i love wu tang. i love gang starr. soulja boy, wakka flocka, and gucci mane all have their place but it isnt on my playlist. and while record sales are what everyone will hold up as how good a rapper is, lets be honest… it doesnt hold the weight it once did. record sales means you convinced a bunch of suburbanite children to convince their parents to buy them the album. it doesnt mean you make quality music.
i remember when gucci came out with that first song with young jeezy before all the BS that popped off… i said then “this dude is so bad that he will probably be the next big thing.” after he went to jail, i knew i was right. cuz shooting people, getting shot, and getting caught doing stupid shit is what makes a good rapper nowadays. and this young generation is repping to the fullest.
thankfully there are j.cole’s out there.
Outkast slaps us wit a new single in 5…4…3…2…
let me amend that last statement:
and this young generation *and T.I. are* repping to the fullest.
@Pandas
YES, thank you, i could not agree with you more. Hip-Hop has lost the focus on lyrics, and is all about the money now. it’s bullshit.
and is all about the money now. it’s bullshit.
====================================
bullshit is a little strong though… its different. its more focused on making hits than anything else. and while you, i, and others do not like it… many more enjoy it more than ever.
Y’all actin’ like people are still makin’ enjoyable music the right way.
*looks @ Eternia & Moss’ rating*
*Hmmm…quotable from a Black Milk album*
When you’re done, you’re done though. That’s all I can say.
well then i guess we gotta keep good music going until the rest of the world wises up, huh?
Y’all actin’ like people are still makin’ enjoyable music the right way.
===========================================================
assuming thats *aren’t*. Im not implying that at all. Its funny though that GZA has averaged 3 or 4 years between albums and its been 2 years, with an album on the way, and it is said he will never be back. I guess its not funny… just confusing. and while there is still good music being made, lets be honest, the stuff being pushed is mindless party/get hype music. that is the reason people congregate at this site, while mainstream is still given a nod, people can get their fill of different types of hip hop. even stuff that hearkens back to the good ol days.
Hell Is Dark, But DMX’s Armpits Are Darker.
I really love H.E.R. but she is cruel and fickle…
I’m going to go out on a limb and say Lil Wayne
Andre 3000, Andre 3000 where art thou?
[nahright.com]
full version finally, very applicable to this discussion.
holy shit
I promise you I haven’t heard a new Lil Flip record in like three years
Is Mobb Deep even debatable? “The Infamous” will always be one of my favorite albums, but it was more or less a fluke. I’ve just tried to ignore the rest of their career and how they’re pretty much idiots.
I see what what TSS is doing there putting some people (Outkast) on here in hopes of getting that persons attention so that they will be relevant again. Nice, hope it works.
^ Reverse psychology!
1st of all: yall ransackd da commnts!took me 10 mins 2 scroll 2da bottom.
2nd: DONT U EVR SAY THT ABOUT OUTKAST!!!!EVR!!!!
*brings knees close 2 chest while folding hands around legs n rocking*
its ok they didnt mean it…. they’l b back.they’r workn on an album rite now…..dre is just…ya kno bored…..he’l b back…i kno he will……if outkast doesnt make anothr album i dont kno wht il do…..
*proceeds 2 load singl bullet n2 revolver…*
ok let me add 10 more to this list:
1.Too $hort
============================================
@D-Treal
I’m from the Bay and this cat still sells out shows here. Maybe dead to mainstream but $hort and 40 get hella love out here
Hell yea if we can contribute to a new ‘Kast album karmically I will take that with a side of foot in mouth no problem
you wont hear another outkast single let alone record unless…
its from a stdk
its off andre 3000 solo album (yeah right)
its off big boys follow up to dusty chico (pack a lunch its gonna be a while)
Outkast slaps us wit a new single in 5…4…3…2…
——
You be’ll counting to that …1 for more than just one second I think lol.
1… time for all of u to hop back on Outkast nuts… last person who hops on has to shave 3stacks asshole
50 Cent should be added. Instead of tweeting dumb shit and ustreaming all day….
… He should be coming up with a scheme of trying to become relevant in hip-hop again.
Damn my nigga. Big balls throwin Kast and Dr. Dre on the list. When I saw that I was like getthefuckouttahere. But facts is facts, they may have not put out nothing but they still go hard.
I refuse to believe that OUTKAST is done ill wait longer than Nelson Mandelas wife for a new album
you forgot Young Buck and 2pac
they are so GONE
I wanted to mention 2Pac.
All of G-Unit received a vote from me. All except Yayo. He’s fortunes have been on the upswing IMO lol.
Who’s rallying behind MS Hill? She held up the D.C. show by 2 and a half hours! I would never support her if she came out w/anything new. Luckily ATCQ came out and tore it down. Then she actually comes out for a quick 30 min set of bullsh@t remixes to all the hits that were rushed and horrible. Luckily WU came out and saved the show again. L boogie, more like L bamma.
sorry man but gza’s drunken onstage rant > souljah boy’s response. all souljah boy did was talk about how gza was born in ’66 (something gza already pointed out in his drunken rant). pretty far from ethering him. at least gza said some chuckle worthy shit.
I can’t wholeheartedly agree with this list. Outkast and Dre could put a joint out right now and it’ll sell easy. Plus Dre still making mad loot as I’m sure Kast are too. GZA like many have said, never aimed to be some superstar. And before you write D’angelo off, think about Maxwell. Dude was gone for like 9 years. Came back out and he’s arguably bigger than when he left (sold 2 mil, won 2 grammys). As for the rest of these guys, I won’t necessarily argue with you lol.
BTW, 50, Shyne, LL, Dipset, and Mobb Deep should definitely make this list
BTW, TC, i hope you know nothing that Soulja Boy has ever or will ever do in music will be comparable to the WORST of what GZA has done.
whoa take G-Unit off dat shit. does niggasz goin to work. each 1 of dem is hot dis year.
if u gonna say any group it should be da whole young money group and brick squad cuz does niggasz all suk. most of da young money group carry drake and waynes bags. n wayne soundin like a fn asswhole on every track.
that’s funny somebody said jay-z, eminem, TI should be on this list….don’t think so. first – eminem had the biggest COMEBACK of any rapper ever with recovery -TI(if he can stay out of prison) is still relevant and very anticipated and lets not mention -HOV who is old as dirt YET is still very relevant and continues to keep creativity in his flow……
[rapradar.com]
^mikey, I think they were responding to something that said you can count who HAS BEEN relevant and stayed hot for a long time (Like T.I, Jay-Z, Em) pretty much off the top of your head.
SMH @ the Honorable Mention “Knuck If You Buck Guys”… welll nooooo shit! Diamond left the group in 2007, Princess left the group, Killa C got kicked out of the group for going to jail in 2005 due to Child Molestation charges… that’s like saying The Beatles will never come back… state the obvious like shit.
I also expect Biggie, Big L, Big Pun, Pac and Mac Dre will never come back….
I also expect Biggie, Big L, Big Pun, Pac and Mac Dre will never come back….
___________________________________________________
Really dude ???
I have to disagree with you putting Outkast and Dr. Dre on your list.
Statistically, they can and will come back, big time.
I’m actually pretty shocked that you would put Outkast on this list.
I also expect Biggie, Big L, Big Pun, Pac and Mac Dre will never come back….
___________________________________________________
Really dude ???
___________________________________________________
chill son… I didnt see u “really dude” Gotty for saying Pac
MAN this list need to be rewritten, they are about 50 more MC that wasnt on this list, that are 500 time worse than the one you have on this list, Your’ll Nigga Pleaseeeeeeeeee
damn judging by what the comment say if you yhad a good album in the 90′s or 2000′s your not going to sell anymore unless your Jay-z or EM well i guess theirs going to be room for more wackness to come out.
Now.. are you arguing they’ll never release another album? Or return to the critical success they once had?
The GZA argument can go double for all of Wu-Tang. For example, Raekwon has a verse with The Biebz, but he doesn’t have another purple tape in him. And I’m a huge Ghostface fan.
I think namedropping Rakim up there was a bit unfair, especially given this hip-hop climate. When Gucci Mane and Wocka Flocka Flame are anticipated artists, how can Rakim carve out a new niche in his 40s?
And you hold your goddamn tongue when it comes to Ma$e. The man is a slow-speaking, opportunistic prince, and I love his music.
Great read but damn ya’ll massacred the c-section! I went to leave a comment & see already 100 + of them! I got to disagree w/ Dre & Outkast though because even though they haven’t put much out everyone & they mama would pick up their albums when they drop! I agree with Nick about the 2 artists that still have possible career resurgence left too! I seen Nelly @ The Shrine towards the end of June & he still packs the crowd! Someone I think should most definitely be on this list & it pains me to say it because of how great an MC he was is Beanie Sigel! Shit for that matter most of the ROC roster! The sad thing is Beans could probably still make dope music if he wanted but he focussing to much on old problems with Jay instead! He should do like his fellow SP bretheren Young Chris & Freeway & just leave the past where it belongs in the past! You see how hard both of them have been grinding & how it has paid them off even with Chris still having yet to drop his solo!
I think the saddest part is that no one even mentioned him after about 55 comments, my boy Chamillionaire. King Koopa ain’t coming back, and the Venom album certainly ain’t comin soon.
bone thugs still one of the greatest, so what if they are not as mainstream, outkast will come back they aint gone
LMAO…Hilarious. Although i agree with alot of this…the D’angelo one hit a nerve and I’m ready to continue my denial.
YOU REALIZE NELLY GOT A MASSIVE HIT WITH “JUST A DREAM” AS WE SPEAK RIGHT?
IT’S THE #1 HIP HOP SONG ON ITUNES RITE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nelly is @ 12 on the Hot 100 charts in two weeks. Looks like his fortunes are looking up. Remember you’re one hit away from being back.
good shit, man! great fuckin blog.
Seriously? People really think Outkast might do another album together?! They didn’t even do their LAST album together. 3 stacks did his thing. Big Boi did his thing. They put seperate solo albums together, threw an Outkast logo on the wrapping and called it a team effort. And that’s a group album?! Tell ya what. I’ma sneak Jay Z’s next album before it come out – (he ain’t retired. he’s bored: he can only knock off Beyonce so many times), add a CD with a couple of my tracks on it and bootleg it out the back door and say it’s the album of a new group Jay-Z in called the JiggaGator Hustlers.
I say just get rid of all the niggers. And I don’t mean the wannabe “rappers”
young buck ?!!
This is idiotic. One, OutKast will always be good. Two, Bone Thugs and Harmony will always stand strong. Three, DMX just needs his chance to shine again; he’s one of the best. Four, anybody from the Wu Tang Clan has more talent than anyone on the radio today. and Finally fuck this idiot that posted such a waste of my time because I had to read each inquiry of his own stupidity
how could a anyone compare The Bone Thugs to fuckin ICP?? are you fuckin serious??
Dr. Dre has enough friends in the industry that he will get enough favors to become relevant again. Don’t act like you don’t remember how “Still D.R.E” banged. Bone thugs are done because nobody what to take the time to listen to lyrics anymore, and rapping fast don’t help. I think Nelly can come back. Outkast just needs a hot single. I was a big GZA fan but after listening to Beneath the Surface dude lost his whole flow it got too choppy.
Ha ha! Great list, ya’all.
Add Black Rob. After he dissed Puffy hard, then retracted the statement the next day, he qualified.
How about Shyne? Is he tip-toeing this list or no?
Whoa! hold your horses on BR! Dude still making very dope music! Funny you guys make this post with so many artists trying make comebacks now too! Which I’m sure was part of the reason you decided make it now!
you don’t have to drop every two years and always be in the light to make good music. Outkast and Dr. Dre are absolutely two of the greatest things hip hop as produced, and second guessing any future material can only be classified as retarted.
*retarded.
Gotty, you be smoking crack man.
Detox is coming out. Right after your dad comes back from the trip to the store for cigarettes and milk that he took when you were seven.
oh man plz keep the jokes coming funniest thing ever
Hey man, GZA’s Pro Tools album kicked ass. Saying his hip hop IQ is dwindling is just flat out wrong.
Fuuuuck yooooou!
Putting Dre and OUTKAST along with the likes of Mase and Nelly is a sin. These artists were all great but Dre and OUTKAST aren’t down for the count. Plus, didn’t DMX have his last 5 albums go to number one? Do you know anything about hip hop? Big Bois solo record was amazing and it hasn’t been ten years. Idle wild was in like 06 and they will be back soon. I’m so tired of ignorant ass motherfuckers just writing garbage. You know why Dre hasn’t released Detox? Probably because he’s making another classic like 2001 or the chronic and shit like that takes time. Not that you’d know anything about real talent you fucking hack. Plus, he’s been working so hard on 50 and Eminem. You make me fucking sick. You’re an idiot.
at least the roots are still continuosly making good albums..and the only reason Bone hasn’t made shit is cuz of legal problems. u know if they dropped an album it would sell just on hype
nelly has a #1 song on itunes right now, he’ll never come back? sounds like you’re wrong.
nelly has a #1 song on itunes right now, he’ll never come back? sounds like you’re wrong.
============
I’m going to need proof of that.
outcast – dr dre……… yeah buddy this is tha 1st and last time i visit this wack azz site – talkin dumb like that
They should just take all these monkeys and relocate them to a plantation in the south. Fucking jigaboos are worthless and so is their music.
A separate “white” list would also be cool.
lol Stupid mother fuckers who think bone thugs are done havent even listened to their songs. and theyve never been gone its just dumb faggots who listen to drake and lil wayne and think theyre hearing real rap.I guess the world isnt into true rap anymore.theyre one of the few who still have songs that mean something. I know theyre not as popular as those current fuckers who call themselves rappers but no one matches their flow and lyrics. Listen to the lyrics and stop being stupid bitches. If bone is gone RAP DOESN’T EXIST.
Can.t forget about Ruff Ryder “Jin”. Ride till you die!!!
Cam’ron, Canibus, LL Cool J, Yung Berg,PSC, Yin Yang,Neptunes, LOX, Clipse, G Unit, Souljaboy, Chamillionaire, Ron browz(pop champagne), Redman, Method Man, 3-6 Mafia, Petey Pablo, Mike Jones, Lil Kim, Killa Mike, Kelis, Joe Budden, Cassidy, Hurricane Chris, Lil Foxx, E-40, E.S.G., Do or Die, Chingy, Boyz n da Hood, 2 Pistolz… There u go… the rest of the list is complete… ut welcome.
Oh, yeah… ANYBODY still under Dame…NOW, ur welcome…
THIS LIST IS NEVER ENDING! SO MANY ARTIST..SO LIL TIME TO NAME EM ALL!
Visit http://www.BluEyesOne.com for EP DoWnLoAd!
-PEACE
What about Fat Joe? He sold about 6,000-12,000 copies in his first week. His Dj is selling more than him and he don’t even rap.
It’s called aging. At least they made their money and thats all that really counts when you think in terms of rap. To be honest that list could be a lot longer. It’s really not a issue of these artist coming back. The problem is really that people keep looking at the past because the present can’t compete with the classics.
…and everytime Hov or Esco come out with anything, everybody always shits there pants. “it aint as good as reasonable doubt/illmatic.”
In 10 years vh1 is gonna have a wicked top 500 list of ‘Hip Hop’s 1 Hit Wonders!
ayo I don’t necessarily disagree with the point ya’ll are making about some (most) of these guys regaining their chart-topping status but seriously the writing in this article is not up to the standards I expect from TSS. I’m talking bout this some sub-Entertainment Weekly quality burns. smh
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony the best rap group of all time. God bless
Bone Thugs n Harmony are still great at making music. So they release an album with Warner Bros. that didnt sell well. Nobody mentions there was basically NO PROMOTION, low budget videos etc, that didnt help the project really get off the ground. Outkast, if they decided too could drop an album right now and would probably be right back on top!
Some of the others I agree with…..
DMX will be back. No one else does what he does.
May I add those there? Nas,
G unit
Lil Kim
Missy Eliott
J lo
Mim’s (lol)
Chingy
Obie trice
Cashis
The game? i hop no
look hip hop aint bout how much money you make its about the music you make, and gza make good music compared to SB but basically anything is better than his music, i would say no artist has left they just havnt been mainstream, bone thugs new album was good too, most people just into the mainstream subjects of hip hop
funny article…rappers are like grass in my front lawn. they rise quickly, get cut off, and new ones pop up next week. old ones fertilize the new ones, until they too, are cut off. who really cares. it’s not like they’re curing cancer or something like that.
Who ever wrote the article your trippin,
Lauryn, Outkast, Dr. Dre it’s almost funny! some of the artist i can get with but those three? Questionable I agree with the people soooooo many other artist should have made this list, because “Hip-Hop started out in the heart now everybody tryin to chart!” Come on now baby, be real!
GZA will be around forever maybe not as popular as comercial mc’s & sell millions of albums, i don’t see that happening but don’t count gza out he’s the true definition of a real mc & got a whole arsenal of hits in his caliber the genius
Lets not forget about Tony YaYo. One hit wonder buddy. Matter fact G-Unit itself is done
ok. lets take gza and outkast off that list.
just for the simple fact that they both have at least 2 albums a piece that shit on just about everyone elses whole catalog.
gza is one of the greatest lyricists of all time.
and outkast is one of the greatest duos of all time.
dont be the stereotypical, short attention span, no respect for the greats hip hop fan. show some goddamn respect.
replace those two with shyne and master p and you’ll have a more accurate list.
whoever wrote this slop needs to go back to their dayjob, glory hole operator. as in the one who sucks the dicks and slurps up the nut. ol’ bitch ass hoe cakes.
I just cant believe that you guys put DMX on this list. Yea he has had some drug problems and has been in jail. But NEVER EVER count DMX out he is one of the greatest rappers of all time. what other rapper puts that much energy into their raps. Even the great Jay Z said that DMX puts all of his energy into his songs and stage performance so much that Jay Z said that he wants to do the same. DMX will always be one of the greatest rappers of all time, maybe not top 10 DOA in every ones list but will surely never be forgotten not today , not tomorrow. Play a DMX song and every one will get hype and sing along.
u fuckin stupid if u think kast aint gone drop somethen else them niggaz like the ISLEY’S OF THIS RAP SHIT,,,,,,,FUCKIN IDIOT REPORTERS BOIIIIIIIIII U DONE PISS ME OFF THIS AM
i think this says more about the industry and the general public than it does about the artists in question.
wow people are pissed about the Outkast statement lol. Until they leave the label they’re on, i don’t think they’ll be dropping anything. even the collabs they had for Big Boi’s solo was cut. I think Andre is just waiting for the right moment to drop something. hope it’s soon though. as far as GZA, he’s never be commercially successful. his music was catered to certain people and those same people will most likely like anything else he drops. DMX, he can’t stay outta jail long enough to work on a project..

Now that Nelly is once again riding the top of the charts, will you admit that you don’t know what you’re fucking talking about?
I gotta agree with a few people in here, i REFUSE to believe Outkast is done….especially with the quality of verses from STILL COMING from both Big Boi AND 3 Stacks!
Might not be as consistent as we want it, but when they drop, they’ll be right back on top! Many of their records were way before their time as it is!
Lol Dr. Dre is back. Look at Kush and I Need a Doctor. You can take him off the list. Who ever post this is a retard.
Goodie Mobb aint coming back.
Busta Rhymes aswell.
Lil Kim also
WTF soulja boy ether gza? That’s like saying Justin bieber can rap
