I clicked on this clip having no idea who Justin Darlington aka Jus Fly and Guy Dupuy aka Easy J of Team Flight Brothers were. I never expected Londoners to hold a Midnight Madness Dunk Contest or even pick up the roundball because I figured futbol was more their sport. Boy, was I grossly wrong. There are no adjectives to fully describe how miraculous the dunks in this clip are. Nada. I’d dare to throw out a few superlatives like “best ever,” “stupendous” and “most exciting,” but then some nitpickers will come in and try to point out dunking deficiencies in attempts downgrade the maneuvers seen here. Hard-pressed, but I know there will be some to try.
However, one thing that’s hard to contest is that David Stern should look these guys up and see what they’re doing next February and if they’d be willing to cross the pond to participate in the next ASG weekend.

Update: HoopsFix sent the following message via Twitter, stating the rims “were DEF regulation, makes me laugh all the comments on the vid with people saying it was a 9 ft. rim.”

That can’t be a regulation basket.
Cause those cats were treating it like the biddie rim at the playground.
Man Amp, I looked @ several dunks trying to figure out if the rim was right. I can’t find any proof that it wasn’t. But some of those dunks are toooooo retarded to be real lol.
this show was 10 x better than the nba dunk contest
Damn impressive. and I agree gotty.. no use in using nba players in a dunk contest that they dont care about… get some folks who want to showcase themselves.
Extremely impressive. The rim does look a little low (check at 1:40 and dude touching the rim with white fleece and bookbag on). With that said a lot of coordination and skill is needed to complete those dunks regardless the height of the rim. Crazy, crazy stuff. I would say there is a difference in dunking in front of 500 people with a flip cam recording dunks compared to at least 10k watching and it being televised in 30+ countries.
Good ish nevertheless.
pretty cool dunk contest.
on a side note, why do people consistently refer to soccer as futbol when it’s over seas? they are in london, not buenos aries
this show was 10 x better than the nba dunk contest

Yup.
So nice I had to watch it twice.
that flip and then bounce between the legs was impressive. Really one of the best dunks ever.
I’m still giving it to James White though. Between the legs from the free throw line was just on some other shit
Can we get these basketball posts more frequently Gotty?
Obviously you’re a huge fan of the game and these are def good looks for a Lazy Sunday Afternoon – word to Questlove
Can we get these basketball posts more frequently Gotty?

it’s weird b/c we do a bunch and people get mad lol. b/w everybody over here, i think we could throw up sports posts daily.
I’ll go 20X times Better
Get three NBA players.
Get three freaks of nature like you saw in the video above.
And we may have a dunk contest worth watching.
it’s weird b/c we do a bunch and people get mad lol. b/w everybody over here, i think we could throw up sports posts daily.

Yeah, there are definitely quite a few sports posts over here. D just had the one about the deadbeat dads who were athletes.
I think daily would be fucking stupendous but I would even settle for a once-a-week type summary (THE WEEK THAT WAS – for sports).
If people dont like it, they dont click that one and can keep opening up the Waka Flocka bullshit. I dont see a downside.
why do people consistently refer to soccer as futbol when it’s over seas?
====================================
in england it is called football and soccer. most countries refer to it as some variation of football because, well, its played with your feet.
on the note of football… anyone see Berbatov’s goal yesterday against West Ham United?
Vince Carter in ’00>>>>
more of this please. this was bananas…pure win!
ummmmm round house through the legs, anyone?
b/w everybody over here, i think we could throw up sports posts daily.

WOW…this shit is just ridiculous, they just made JR Rider Dee Brown and VC look ordinary.
justin darlington is from TORONTO , CANADA not london
man these dudes must just practice on there damn hops they making this look too easy got damn
That rim looks less than 10 feet.
@ Thomas
You were right about the 1:40 mark. Fugazi, but fun.

i’ll second that
might be regulation height for the UK though.
These are regulation hoops. Team Flight Brothers basically consists of a team of superior dunkers. They may not be good basketball players, but they are definitely athletes who can very well dunk better than alot of NBA players.
Look up T-Dub on youtube, he is arguably the best dunk of TFB, and he’s only 5’9″. TFB routinely tours across the world to showcase their talented dunkers
Justin Darlington goes to my school, Ive seen him do this on regulation size hoops, so they probably are.
FYI, he doesn’t play much ball. He’s on the track and field team for high jump, actually.
