Filthy Rich Barbershop’s tent was set up far back behind the courts, adding a full-on urban touch to Nike’s takeover of Rucker Park for last week’s WBF. Weird as well but I guess to me only because their barbers stayed busy with clippers abuzz for the duration of the Festival.
One of those getting a ‘cut was my PNC for last week, Nick Schonberger, columnist for Selectism & High Snobiety. On the morning of day three, I hit Nick to see what he had planned, to which he replied “I think I need to get a fade uptown today.” Understand two things: homie’s side-splitting funny, speaking with deceptively dry wit and he’s white, so the prospect of him actually getting a fade never actually crossed my mind. At the time, I figured he was just quoting an obscure song lyric. A couple of hours later, I inquired his location…and he was getting a haircut @ Rucker.
Folks, that’s how one takes an offbeat approach to writing, doing anything to make the story an actual story.
Follow Nick on Twitter, @nschon and read his superbly offbeat ramblings for Selectism, too.

Meh…Not impressive no blending/fading at all hardly.
i don’t think it’s about the haircut as much as the novelty lol.
agreed. the haircut he gave dude could have been done in the dark as it was so damn basic. if someone’s making a vid of me cutting, best believe the cat getting cut is getting biz!
No straight razor work makes it a super weak shape up.
