Robert Kelly, throughout the years, has been a man of many distinctions. On one hand, he is one of the most iconic song makers of all time. (ALL TIME FAM!) His music has defined generations and been the soundtrack to happy endings worldwide for years. Look around and for every teenager between the ages of 15 and 18, at least one out of every five is a product of “Bump N’ Grind.” However, he is also known for that pesky scandal which was forever immortalized by the honorable Dave Chappelle.
Since 2007, Rob has put out four disregarded projects (three albums and an Auto-Tuned drunken mixtape) and seen Trey Songz supplant his mainstream spot. Kelz doesn’t seem too worried about the past and seems only intent on making things right in the future. Allegedly, Chi-Town’s own has three projects in the works. One in particular is Love Letter with the first single being “When A Woman Loves.”
Contrary to songs of his past, “When A…” lacks the sexually-charged innuendo, but features a more soulful, old school ambiance. Rob leaves the nightclubs behind on this record which sounds like it would fit right in with the school socials of the 1950s and 60rs right in between Frankie Lymon and James Brown. As of now, there is no set release date for the album. In a perfect world it would feature Rob making indigenous music absent of any trends or gimmicks to latch on to. And a Dave Chappelle skit, but that may be running to the well one too many times.

Robert is a genius. A freaky pedo genius but a genius nonetheless.
This song is really good, almost to the point where you know Kellz can’t maintain the same level of quality throughout an entire album.
Last time he did that was TP2.com, which seems like a lifetime ago.
I’d have to admit that most of the songs before the “Trapped” malarkey on TP3 were pretty good.

R. Kelly’s one of my favorite artists of all-time, but I can’t get myself excited about this song. As dope as it is, the last time he made a good album was Happy People/U Saved Me, and the last great one was Chocolate Factory. My expectations of future greatness have been lowered.

“when a woman loves” is not only r.kelly best song ever, it’s the best song this year too and in 20 years from now it will sound even better. this is one of those songs you write once in a liftetime, i am sure that the rest of his new album won’t come even close to this song because this song is of the highest caliber.

Michael Jackson was a freak and was always in the media but does that change the fact that his musical talent way surpaces our lifetime of talents to come. R kelly has produced great hits for several generation and until today he can still put out music that will blow any generation away. All these young talents out there going in studios using sound enhancement and modifications to put out hit songs will be soon forgotten, R kelly can never and will never be forgotten because of hits he continuosely puts out.
