I’m telling you now that the biggest obstacle in becoming the next Michael Jordan is height these days. Because the athleticism these little guys are displaying in 2010 is pretty uncanny. John Wall has yet to play a NBA game but he’s already making pro highlights. In a scrimmage at the Boost Mobile Elite 24 midnight run in Los Angeles last night, the #1 pick got jiggy wit’ it from a lob tossed from Brandon Jennings.
All we needed was the “John Wall Dance” and this would have made the perfect Reebok commercial.

holy bah jeez-us tht was hot.
Still not sold on this Wall cat being able to dominate in the NBA.
We’ll see this season.
Lob was actually sicker than the dunk to me. Precise.
heard gilbert been playin well too…john wall x gilbert arenas = ? gonna be interesting to watch
Niiiiiiice…
try again
Every player in the league is more athletic, no matter the size

really??? id say its will power, desire (passion), and actually caring more about winning than your own health, money, and family. there are a decent number of 6’6 and above players nowadays who have better athleticism that Jordan did.
the biggest obstacle is definitely heart.
Kids too scared of being a ball hog…fuck that…if you a scrub I’m taking the shots!
^^^ what amp said… ive heard all this before. im not saying he wont be good… but i doubt dominant.
Like Track said, Jennings aka lil Raphael Saadiq was the real was the man for the lovely pass.
and actually caring more about winning than your own health

I’d say Dwayne Wade is the closet to fitting that bill. Besides Kobe.
@ Cell didnt D-Wade can the 07-08 season cause he was “hurt”(his team was losing)?
@cell
dwayne CAN be… sometimes he dont care… and i think we just leave kobe out of the argument because up until colorado he patterned his life to be MJ, not to be like MJ, but to be him. Everything from how he talked, to walking, to his game, to his on court mannerisms, to ESPECIALLY his work ethic… kid really wished he was Jordan. Now I bet he wishes he hadnt been trying to be someone else, cuz all the bs aside, kobe a baller.

His team was gonna lose anyways that year. I remember him being pretty impressive in 08-09 season in the post while being very injured.
@ Panda, I’ll give you his work ethic. The other stuff iono. I didn’t see all that but I do remember his work ethic being similar. But as far as actually caring about winning more than anything else, I feel like Kobe would put his two little girls on Hollywood strip to turn tricks to get his next win. And if he wouldn’t do that…he’d think long and hard about it.
But I do feel there are some youngsters out there with that killer will. Durant being one that I have my eye on as well as Rondo. Rondo has been one of the best improved players in the league over the past two seasons. And Durant seems to be anti-LeBron in all the ways that keep LBJ from being the next MJ.
John Wall is no joke. He’s really, really fucking good. Great skills with UNBELIEVABLE athetism running your team, congrats D.C.
I’ve already bought tix for Wizards vs. Heat here in DC. I’m also taking my Sports & Entertainment Marketing students to a game against the Knicks this year. I’m not a Wizards fan, but I think this kid will be alright. Especially if “Agent 0″ stays healthy, and takes the scoring load away from Jimmy Wall.
@cell
rondo QUIT the international b-squad.. he’s got a lot to prove before i can include near kobe… durant is so hard to tell cuz his game is effortless, but it looks like he works damn hard at being the best (number 1 fantasy pick this year).
@d howser
whoa buddy… agent zero no more. he is now number 6. i hope he does well, but i think his best days are behind him.
