Phew, y’all included “Oh, Maker.” I was going to have a fit if you didn’t. I favor “Wondaland” over “Locked Inside,” but can’t go wrong with that album. I think “Turns Me On” is the best song on Son of Chico Dusty, but that’s a personal opinion I suppose, and of course, both selections on this list are also certified great. Also, “Stylo” over “Superfast Jellyfish” or “Empire Ants?” Methinks someone needs to re-evaluate the Gorillaz album.

Janelle Monáe – “Locked Inside” — We don’t care where you are. When this song comes on, you better be dancing. It’s a masterpiece track on an absolute gem of an album. If you haven’t heard The ArchAndroid yet you should probably rethink your life choices.
The Roots Feat. Truck North, P.O.R.N. & Dice Raw – “Walk Alone” — Musically, this embodies the feeling of being alone and the lyrics capitalize with paranoia, anger and uneasiness. TC can also testify that P.O.R.N. is too ill for his own good.
Eminem – “Cold Wind Blows” — Upon hearing the wickedly entrancing chorus to this album ignition, you literally put your face in your hands and think “Wow. This album is going to be good.” Correctamundo.
“I suddenly just want to throw on some legwarmers and do jazzercise.”

every project he’s released since I’m Still Livin’ has been constructed with seemingly no quality control.
–
I ain’t never said it was Z-Ro’s fault, but it’s my fucking opinion. You know how frustrating it is that one of my top 25 MC’s of all time is still in the game and I haven’t liked a single one of his albums in 4 years? Don’t sit back & judge my shit if you just react to what YOU think i’m writing. Read what I’m saying and you’ll realize i’m not “dragging his name through the mud.” I’m making the statement that he could make another “Life Of Joseph W. McVey,” “Let The Truth Be Told” or “I’m Still Livin’,” but it’s just not happening. Not pointing fingers in blame, just pointing out what is obvious to anyone who pays attention to his national attention, and giving the reasons i believe to be why. You’re overlooking the fact that i dug through his latest mediocre album and FOUND a song for this list. A list of GREAT songs. That’s not dragging his name through the mud, that’s giving him credit for the fact he makes great songs.

This is a superb list guys. Lots of great songs I know and quite a lot that I don’t. I’ll have a look at all of them.
I’d say one or two MASSIVE oversights are the lack of any songs from Freeway & Jake One’s album, Damien Marley & Nas’ album and Roc Marciano’s album.
However, I do understand this wasn’t a definitive list and was simply 75 songs you liked, so no-one here should be bothered whats left out as its not a year-end be all and end all, its just a nice intermission.
Oh and Maynholup….just please. Please. Stop it. Please.

Also, the cynical stubborn dickhead of a hip-hop fan in me says this list has WAAYY too much Drake.

@MAYNHOLUP:
Dude, I’m the one responsible for including the Vampire Weekend (and She & Him) track, but just because we didn’t include Z-Ro doesn’t mean that he can’t have one of your favorite 2010 hits. Chill out. This is a compiled list of what we, as a staff, have been personally feeling this year. Everyone recognizes that there are easily more than 75 tracks that could fit into this list.
Granted, you’re not a fan of VW, but that track is a banger on a critically and commercially successful album. Gotty wanted some out-of-the-box suggestions and I stick by the inclusion.

Z-Ro’s album was largely constructed by the label Rap-A-Lot who put this shit together after he self released what was supposed to be Heroin in October under de name Cocaine. if y knew anythign abotu Ro u wud know this and not drag his name through hte mud on the only time u mentioned his music on dis site by ignorantly writing it off as his inability to make a cohesive record.
MAYNHOLUP-
huggin Z-Ro’s dick so tight that you lookin like a condom.
if u ont undastand RO please dont write about him mayn pfork got de memo when i laced dem a couple yearz back but fuck u if you thabkj ro aint got quality control an u throwin vampire weekend of de list take dat shit elsewhere

solid list. glad to see hi-jynx on there. keep track of this man.. he’s going places.
POWER
HI-JYNX is going up in the levels even faster than I thought. NEVER FAIL is yet another HALF AMAZIN production that seems to amaze me. These guys are going places. DOPE TRACK!!!
Dog, look at the keyboard next time you type.
^^^
THIS!
LMAO, I’m about sick of you non-typin’ incomprehensible bottom dwellers
Hi-Jynx needs to stop being slept on. Never fail is just :hat and if you don’t already have it, get that #MusicMonday. Also his summer joint Paradise, shit got me dumping cross state lines. Half Amazin production is always on some :EEEK :Smokin :Egchk collabo. Keep up the great work Hi-Jynx and Half Amazin.
I meant simping not dumping. Lmao.
The HI-JYNX track is dope.
every project he’s released since I’m Still Livin’ has been constructed with seemingly no quality control.

Hi-Jynx track is fire
Don’t get K1NG mad or feed him after midnight lol.
Drake is the only artist Ive ever seen live who has actually been so bad live he’s made me hate him even more. Plus, Thank Me Later was booty buttcheeks.
Shout out to my mans Hi-Jynx!!! Serious talent!! He’s on the come up for sure!!! He’ll be appearing on my mixtape coming up in August! The “5th Flo” Mixtape. Steady to the top!! 5thFlo!!! http://www.5thflo.com/
Hi-Jynx killed it. Track was dope.
OK….. so this intermission is a summer break or something? Where’s the cooler for today? The shoes thatll drop soon? The TC inspired video where “two hood chicks pummel each other with bricks” ?
Geez……. Dangle the carrot why dont ya’ll?
Turk:
“And at this point, we’re going to take a rare, but much needed break and recharge our engines. Enjoy the offerings. See you all on Monday!”

@king_tss: im juss syain, you steddy bumpin Vampire Weekend and u didnt feel Crack or Cocaine? c.mon now
@MAYNHOLUP:
Gotty wanted some out-of-the-box suggestions and I stick by the inclusion.
i think Greums has a child…and that childs name is Maynholup
on anotha note…was anybody else feelin Nas & Damian Marley – Friends?
i have played the fuck outta that joint since i got it

Everything on that album except maybe “My Generation” and “In His Own Words” still gets major play by me. Greatly under-appreciated album.
@TC
i was so disappointed by the album…Friends is my favorite joint, and theres a couple otha tracks i was diggin, but overall it just didnt live up to my expectations. as we enter isnt even 1 of the songs i really like, that beat gets on my nerves afta about a minute. but the 1st time i heard Friends, i played that shit on repeat for about an hr

Enjoy the vacation, Gotty. The break should serve as a reminder for all of us to appreciate the steady flow of HQ content.
Peace to the TSS fam! Had a Weekend Vacation in Baltimore and I come back to see this amazing list. Once I settle, I’m soo ready to get the downloading.
@Gotty
Just dont bet your shoes at the crap table!
MAN! I knew I was forgetting something. I would have WITH OUT QUESTION included Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings. Probably would have just said “The whole gosh darn’d album.”
Aloe Blacc’s “I Need A Dollar” is money (pun intended?)…if you haven’t heard it, you’re slippin’ like that Quadron track…which I also like.
As far as Yelawolf, I put my daughter on to “Stage Lights (Remix)” and she always requests it lol
@fatbellybella by jay electronica was pretty dope. i was sure yall would have it o well

2010 has been good do far, let’s hope the rest of the year keeps the hits coming. J Cole’s album is one to check out.
Shouts to Hi-Jynx.
We gon’ get 2 or 3 more bangers out for the 3rd/4th quarter.
#Steady
I re-read this list and I’m absolutely happy that yall included Pac Div’s Overcome. That was my favorite track off of Don’t Mention It.
Fantastic feature. Especially appreciated the variety of sounds offered and the blurbs to each track were really well done. Kudos TSS, I’ve already found a few gems just sifting through some of the more interesting looking picks.
I was right here. :)

Hi-Jynx is definitely one of my favorite rappers! “Never Fail” is a dope track! S/O to him for always growing as an artist. He never disappoints!
Jynx is most definitely up next.
Steady to the top.
Tap tap pull
if there was a way to get this all some kind of downloadable package, that would be amazing.
