Nobody likes to be the last one to catch on to what’s next. Therefore it seems important to make a mention of Gilbere Forte’ before he potentially skyrockets to prominence. Still, I haven’t rightly figured out where to place his sound. While “Black Chukkas” is making the rounds, the track doesn’t necessarily move me, sounding too much like standard Hip-Hop fare. I always find there’s something more to be said for songs that evoke the feeling of a quiet riot and found that in “1st Floor.” Produced by Passion Pit’s Aislyn, the beat sounds like a musical roll of thunder, one that requires an adept emcee to keep pace with it. And Gilbere does just that by using a quick-tongued flow common to Philly rappers.
So make this the first mention of Mr. Forte’ so that six months down the line, that pesky commenter won’t come in criticizing for having not given the rhymer any attention previously.

I can’t remember a time when someone has posted that where one of you guys didn’t just post a TSS search of the artist lol. The song feels nice. He’ll need a couple more tracks in this direction and I can hop on board.
