This one has been a long time coming. Not only will Build And Destroy be Black Spade’s first solo project since 2008′s critically acclaimed To Serve With Love, it’s also one I’ve been waiting to be a part of. Spade’s a remarkable talent who’s able to produce, sing and rap and do all with equal skill. I fell so far in love with To Serve…, it’s almost my chosen duty to let as many people know about this brother’s music.

Serving as an appetizer before the full deal, the aptly-titled “Breakthrough” finds Stoney Rock going right alongside fellow Force member Rockwell Knuckles and young Brainiac Society member Vic Mensa. Over cinematic production, Spade speaks the truth as he sees it, expressing his desire to move from starving artist to making “that natural Provolone” but without sacrificing the character of his music or himself. Presented by heavyweight boutique Union LA, Build And Destroy will be mixed by Trackstar and feature new production by Black Spade himself, along with guest spots from familiar comrades Coultrain, Rockwell Knuckles, Corey Black, Wafeek and among others. And, it will be another admirable addition to his catalog.
