Constructing a verse is easy. Constructing one with meaning, passion, and longevity, however, is the trick. Every fan, critic, and casual listener of Hip-Hop has at least one or two 16s they can turn to reflect on in good times and receive guidance through in bad times. At its very core, it’s powerful. Relating to another person’s words and emotions as if they were your own was the reason music was created and the sole testament why it remains the language of the world.
The next masterpiece of Yours Truly and TSS’ “3:16″ series centers around two young men who have made incredible strides in the past year and a half. Pill and Freddie Gibbs have become known for their raw, aggressive and unapologetic approaches, garnering recent co-signs from some of the game’s most respected tastemakers in DJ Drama and Bun B. The two aren’t as a duo, either, and we still suggest/request they do a full length project together. Their music tells stories they’ve seen or witnessed first hand, but this feature digs deeper than just a verse. Rather, the story behind their chosen verses are exposed, shining more light and appreciation for what was already respected.
Be sure to check out the previous “3:16″ episodes with Pac Div and J. Cole.

Off topic I know, but did anybody catch The Hard Time of RJ Berger last night?
Not to be a hater, but did Pill not get the purpose of the segment? and if he was gonna choose his own verses, shouldn’t he have chosen some that he could remember and recite seamlessly? Doesn’t bode well for a concert.
In terms of Freddie, you gotta love the choice in UGK. Every verse on Ridin Dirty was memorable, but Bun’s on “High Life” still gives me tha chills.
I need a Gibbs/K.R.I.T. collabo, STAT!
is it a coincidence both of thes artists use ‘gangsta’ n front of their name???? i 2nd tht on da collab tape wit pill & gibbs
Haha is it wrong that whenever I have lady issues now Sumthin’ U Should Know helps put my head back on track?
