KiD CuDi – “REVOFEV”

06.17.10 Written by Gotty™

Amongst purists, he’s ignored yet with the tightpants, he’s adored. Through it all, Cudi’s making marvelous music and proving that it’s about making powerful, stirring music at the end of the day. “REFOFEV” is the supposed first single off his second album, Man On The Moon: The Legend Of Mr. Rager. #If2PacWereHere

06.16.10 Written by David D.

I didn’t cry when Pac died. I was 10. But as time has passed and I’ve grown older, I’ve missed him. After going back through the years and listening to his music, reading his literature and watching every documentary I could get my hands on, I want Pac back and wish I could have been older when he was alive. Emwow: Vince For Eminem’s Recovery

06.16.10 Written by Corey Bloom

I think we can all agree that there will never be another Billy Mays. He was the Benjamin Franklin of pitchmen, the Rick Ross of pushing product. However, unlike the modern-day rap fan, I’m not quick to crown any new jack on the scene with the slightest bit swagger “the next best thing” or better yet, “a savior.” But I do know talent when I see it. J. Cole – “The Last Stretch”

06.16.10 Written by J. Tinsley

Given the amount of music that makes its rounds on the Internet on an hourly basis, it’s crazy to think an entire year has passed since J. Cole cemented himself on radars everywhere with The Warm Up. On a day where everyone and their mama (and rioted) the release of Drizzy’s much ballyhooed LP, Cole reflected on the past year. Read the rest of this entry »

All Star – “I’m Just Saying Tho”

06.16.10 Written by Gotty™

I just rap in between when the purp comes in, had a deal with Birdman before I ever played a verse for Slim.”

Lito’s at a now or never juncture to a certain degree. He seems to know it and diehard fans know it. After a career carousel ride, things are coming full circle to a point where his music makes the impact it was expected or he settles into the role of regional standout, but not nationally appreciated. The realization is audible on “I’m Saying Tho’,” where Cashville’s Prince employs a breathless flow while recalling days of a not so distant past associated with hustling and early rap success. Nicole Scherzinger For Maxim Magazine

06.16.10 Written by Gotty™

There’s only one way to properly recover from that Dre post and it involves skin. Tall, sexy skin belonging to Nicole Scherzinger as she poses for the July cover of Maxim. *Sigh* Those legs and thighs are just melting my heart away. Read the rest of this entry »

Here’s What To Expect If You Push A Cop

Christ Grew Tired Of His End Zone Pose

06.16.10 Written by TC

The odds of you being struck by lightning is like 576,000 to 1 or some disproportionate ratio that’s never actually going to happen. So out of all things this “freak of nature” could strike — a diner, a parked car, a rutabaga plant — destroying a 65 foot statue of Jesus that was signaling a touchdown-like pose would seem a bit like an omen, don’t ya think? “Hometown Hero” – Review Of Big K.R.I.T.’s K.R.I.T. Wuz Here

06.15.10 Written by J. Tinsley

Where the state of Mississippi may be rich in its political and cultural history, its presence in Hip-Hop’s autobiography has been anything but prosperous. Atlanta remains the mecca of Southern rap. Texas had a memorable run and Florida was able to embed its fair share of artists into the mainstream fabric. Even Alabama made a name for itself, birthing successes like Rich Boy and Yelawolf. The crooked letter state, however, was never able to extend its reach outside of the most recognizable talent, David Banner. Things may soon be changing after the release of Mississippi native’s Big K.R.I.T.’s latest project, Big K.R.I.T. Wuz Here. Read the rest of this entry »
