Just the other day I ran back Gone Fishin’ and wondered where the heck The Cool Kids went. It was around this time last year that when that tape got spins well into the summer and I expected their debut album to drop in the fall. But alas, we didn’t hear much from them for a minute outside of a few features and a short Christmas tape. It seemed weird seeing their online presence diminish given their track record. So that gave me reason to believe they were up to something substantial behind the scenes.
Turns out Chuck & Mike are back just in time for the summer with Tacklebox, a precursor to Fish Ride Bicycles. It’s standard Cool Kids fare with 808s, trucker mics & synths along with slow flows about new clothes, cars and women (including your girl of course.) It’s here to roam free on the internet so set some HD space aside for their latest catch.

Listened to this and Bar Exam 3 last night. These two along with earlier releases have made 2010 a great year for mixtapes so far.

I may be the only guy who’s not fond of the Cool Kids, but that could be because I didn’t like black mags that much. Definitely gotta check this out.
The Cool Kids have been at DD172
I think there are some legal issues they are dealing with as far as getting an album out.
Been having trouble from last night downloading this, still having trouble.
