No word yet on what the actual ratings were, but those for the season three premiere of The Boondocks had to be through the roof. In a span of 30 minutes (22 if you include commercials), Aaron McGruder’s creation appeared not to miss a beat as they poked and prodded at the historic election of Barack Obama – including the controversial Will.I.Am. single, “D#ck Riding Obama.”
Regardless whether you agree, were massively offended or find yourself on the fence, it’d be hard to argue the idea behind the episode did not hold some truth behind it. With that said, TSS has our own opinion of the program’s return. We’re interested to know how you received the episode.
No need for one word responses either. We all know real aggins don’t follow directions anyway.
And since you’re here, may as well pick up this Dub Floyd, Wally Sparks, HighOffLife.com and BoondocksBootleg.com co-signed mixtape. good show, off topic but.. Anyone else notice that in the B.O.B. song bet i buzz, everyone and the video is saying that he is saying bet i bust. Now i get buzzed off of a bag of bud, i dont get bust. also in his opening line he rhymes buzz with does, makes sense. now if he was saying bust, he would be rhyming bust with does. <does not make sense. Of course i might be crazy, or i might just be stupid for actually listening to the song, but when the video has graphics of the word bust all over the screen it confuses me when he doesnt say it.
Pretty sure it’s “bet I bust” considering that’s the title of the song. put the dope down lol.
best part of the episode was asking everyone why they were voting for obama. how like life.
I thought it was funny & a pretty interesting way to start off the new season! Although a lot of the material was real dated to!
There were so many subliminal messages in that episode. In the scene when Huey was harassed by a group of black folks for not supporting Obama, was a direct reference to how people reacted to Aaron Mcgruder’s comments on Obama. I thought the episode was a great way to start the season.
A great way to cap off that episode.
Classic. So many quotables and so much truth.
Using Thugnificent to poke fun at DMX’s ignorance was quite awesome.
Great episode, I felt like a Latino version of what Huey was feeling during the campaign/election/inaguaration, highly suspicious of Obama/Democrat party is just as shady as their GOP counterparts and just as full of shit…all comes back to Bildeberg…of course that kind of shit got you ostracized by some who weren’t trying to hear it…and besides Latinos that were too easily pleased were content with an empty promise of ” immigration reform” from another suit and tie politician… told my bretheren he was just woofing…I made this face when people were blindly following like he would do something useful on that front :-|
Anyway, rant aside, I thought the episode was hilarious and I could definitely relate to Huey’s mindset and the tension that between him and Obama-drones marching in lockstep as well as the sobering realization that while not supporting Obama doesn’t neccessarilly make you some GOP fuckface in reality, the perception is that you’re a sellout for not backing the democrat/minority candidate.
Also, through facebook updates and text message/ emails I recieved, I know for a fact this episode offended some “Obama Dick-Riders” as they were called, people weren’t too happy about how their fanaticism towards the president was portrayed…I’ve been telling them though since day one that’s how they made themselves look so don’t shoot the messenger. Particularly this one girl that’s always saying some shit about his great policies (seems like no matter the policy…eg bullshit charter schools as the new model for public education) and concludes every statement with “Obama is the greatest.”. She was salty after that episode. She had it coming lol.
FUCK AMERICA!
AMERICA CAN EAT A DICK!
AMERICA CAN LICK THE BALLS!
“Otis has found success like many Negro-Americans entertainers today… by being a professional baffoon.”
*dead*
It was great to see them back like they never left. The Thuggnif DMX part was hilarious. The truth is most def back in the building. I know where I’ll be on the 1st day of every week cause as we all know, All the great shows have come on Sunday nights. (Sopranos, Wire)
I was more or less apathetic when Obama won. I was more focused on seeing whether or not he could get shit done.
Best part of that episode was seeing the dude sell stuff like “Obama Water”. Everyone was trying to cash in on Obama right after he won the democratic nomination.
Also, I’ve been looking for Asheru’s stuff for a long ass time. Almost his entire discography is EP’s and Vinyls.
Dick Riding Obama was trending on Twitter last night. Some got it…some didn’t and some were confused as fuck lol

Out of so many, that was one of my favorite lines during the show as well.
Episode summed up the kids during my Senior year in High School very well.
Pretty sure it’s “bet I bust” considering that’s the title of the song. put the dope down lol.

*puts dope down and picks up bottle* alright, now look here. first of all im not at think as you drunk i am. So lets not twist it getted. The song title is the source of my probems. Sadly it is “Bet I”. If he had included the one word which he had said after those two, problem solved, but he didnt. Im serious, i dont hear him saying a T, im hearing z’s in there. Plus like i said. You give me fifteen minutes and a bag of bud, bet i buzz. I dont bust off weed, i buzz… hmmm, i feel this conversation just took a turn for the worse so im going to leave it alone now.
Huey is one of last real aggins alive
om not at think as you drunk i am.

I got that Obama Water! Change the way you hydrate!
Panda I can see how its confusing because it does kinda sound like Buzz. But Bust makes sense b/c he’s a rapper. As in Bust-A-Rhyme (see what I did there (c) David D). Listen to his verse again associate bust with rapping. It’ll make sense then.
i know it does. but its the chorus that gets me. my only guess would be that he is saying all he needs is 15 minutes to get weeded up and spit something.

Uncle Ruckus, founder of Patriots With Revitiligo
Anyone got an alternative link, some reason this isnt working for me, thanks.
link’s dead.
They sell Obama basketballs at my local kmart. TBH don’t think they sell that many. They’re all dusty n’ shit, lol…
RMF…
the werner herzog narration was hilarious.
That’s pretty much how I felt all through High School, and my classmates all felt like Uncle Ruckus.
He’s the lesser of two evils in a system that only allows you two choices. At that point, voting seems irrational, and ultimately sense politics is a business- a business of which stands as an oligopoly-, chances are you are voting for someone who’s probably a little corrupt. But Politics is Politics, and Politicians are Politicians. Anyone who thought/thinks otherwise is only fooling themselves; look at Palin, she’s raking in the cash. She’s making more out of office than in it lol. Speaking of Palin, that’s what drove independent voters away. People thought she was one of the most unintelligent candidates for any political office in history- before they realized she was governor of Alaska. Which then put Alaska on the map and most Americans wondered “How stupid are Alaskans,or are they just cold Alabamians?” (No offense to those in Alabama lol)
But, anyway, long political rant and shit. This episode was correct in capturing the media and most populations feel for Obama. It was either extreme disgust or extreme love, both of which were unwarranted. Then there were those in the middle, which remained quiet.
Yo,
Best Lines of the Night:
“I got that Obama water. Change the way you hydrate”
“Otis has found success like many Negro-Americans entertainers today… by being a professional baffoon.”
“America can eat a Dick! American can lick the Balls!”
“…my arm isn’t the same as it used to. I probably wouldn’t be able to hit that greasy n***er anyway.”
nobody’s asking the real question here: Do you think Obama watchecd it?
*watched
Riley: Eh. *Dead*
*Huey: Eh *Dead*
It’s the best show on television. Even if it was dated, it was still poignant. hopes to more classic episodes.
weak sauce. dated topic. i wish i could get the time lost back.
they also poked fun at Jim Jones with the “i’ma call my niggas my Obamas” line
NC is in the fuckin house on this mixtape, at least 10 different NC artists on this. I loved the episode wish i could see the very end though. Every internet site i watch it on cuts off before the end. My homie Ed E Reuger told me bout the Dick Riding Obama song back when we did a show in March. Stay tuned Ed E Reuger, JJ the Genius and Metaphor the Great should have a lot of songs this season. Crank that Artichoke
Why did Huey wanna leave America?
A long time fan…..ask yourself WHY as the truth comes to the front, why dont you think you dont know the ratings…..they (10% people in so called authority that knows the truth)…because those numbers went through the roof, and the last thing those people (10%) needs to see is the majority listen to two black kids speaking truth. Namaste to Aaron…for real sun!!!!!
