*Straps on backpack*
2003-2004 was the David D. backpack era. My prized possession in my Jansport was Madvillainy, which is a polarizing album as people either hate it or absolutely love it. I still contest that it’s a 5 Cig album. Each song flowed seamlessly, with DOOM dropping gems all over Madlib’s creepy, whimsical and comical (in the good way) production.
“Papermill” is that classic Madvillain sound with a couple of hook-less minutes of DOOM spitting non-sequitors and off-kilter rhymes. His voice is missing that gravelly sound it had in the first album, which is a shame. Still, this track is vintage Madvillain. Apparently, this it from an album that is on the way. Expect the project to come out the day after DOOM actually shows up to a concert.
Download it @ Adult Swim

Im making it known: Im a DOOM stan and I LOVED Madvillainy. I won’t say 5 cigs, but I thought it was pretty damn close. He has more of that Born Like This voice, but I dont care because It’s Madvillain and it’s good. About time we have a TRUE sequal (I dont count the remix album).
i’m gonna get eaten alive for this, but “madvillainy” is my favorite hip hop album evar… not saying it’s the GOAT.. just that it’s my personal fave.so many quotables. i cannot wait for this LP to drop.
*slips into DOOM stan mode*
Watch the droptop pop
Known as the grimy limey slimy
Try me blimey
Simply smashing in a fashion that’s timely
Mad Villain dashing in a beat rhyme crime spree
We rock the house like rock ‘n roll
Got more soul
Than a sock with a hole
Set the stage with a goal
To have the game locked in a cage
Getting shocked with a pole
Madlib is so damn good
“America’s Most blunted” Madlib is a genius! Madvilliany is a classic record. That, Jaylib and both Quasimoto albums knock the hardest. Classic!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ALL COMMENTS ALL TRUE!!!!!!!!!!

madvillany is easily have a 5/5.
strange ways is my shit
:) this is my shiiiiit. VILLAIN!
I agree with all above. Madvillainy is my favorite album of all time. deff 5 cigs
Madvillainy II
madvillainy was extra sharp, but i still give vaudeville villian a slight edge if for nothing else it was more aggressive. either way one could NEVER go wrong with doom. and for the record madlib is probably the nicest prod around
Madvillain is a classic.
I agree with woodywood, I liked Vaudeville Villain more. It was more focused, and it had better straight up lyricism. Regardless, Madvillain was a classic
Does anyone have the MP3 for Metal Face Down by Doctor Richards? Google: “MF Doom/Doom takes a shot from Doctor Richards”… Papermill is most likely a response to the song Doctor Richards (of Fantastic Four) wrote called Metal Face Down… You may have to find the original press release to hear the song though cause I dont think its on youtube.
“You need a mint, bitch.”

In my opinion Madvillainy should be the most critically acclaimed hip-hop album of all time and would be an easy 5 cigs
About my use of effects. ghd heating only takes 30 seconds, super-fast, black 5 minutes, GHD does not hurt after I repeatedly hair, hair has not changed, and the black iron hair side was dry. The most The key is GHD ceramic material used, not to hurt the hair. GHD can only head a very straight hairpin, super easy. most proud of is the great ghd hair straighteners can also be used, the effect super-natural, in time of interest MM can watch a video on the GHD website, I have not introduced here, but I get after the people are like paper, the only drawback is that time is not maintained very long.
Friends have used CHI, T3 came over tried to prove that cheap ghd straighteners is indeed the king straight world, Oh, this is the winter solstice, wish you happy ~ ~ chenmiaomiao071016
Listened to Papermill three times in a row after I downloaded it – short but so very sweet! Cannot wait for the new Madvillain album.
Does anybody know he got the beat in the background? Honestly I don’t like the song very much, but that beat is one of the greatest things I have ever heard.
I want to see Doom perform live again. There is nothing more entertaining than a crowd of backpackers looking at me strangely, as if to ask why I’m at the show. Then, when the beat drops, I effortlessly recite Doom’s lyrics as they tap each other on the shoulder and point back at me. I had a guardian angel at Stones Throw (once upon a time) who would bless me with new releases. MHBs is my favorite release from Stones Throw (because of the Little Children sample). Madvillain is my favorite ST album. I’ve loved Doom before he was Doom — when he was Zev Love X of KMD. Doom is one of the only reasons I still listen to hip-hop. Without him, there wouldn’t be much of a movement. I love Madlib’s choices of samples. ST just needs to clear their shit and start paying the people they’re sampling. I’m looking forward to a new Madvillain release.
