With the help of Coodie & Chike for Creative Control, Halsted gets visual with the intro from track from his latest mixtape (download it here). Short & succinct, I’d say this clip is more about continuing to build facial recognition for fans than the song itself. The lyrics & Mikkey’s commanding voice, they already spoke volumes.

Mikkey would be a nice addition to the BluRoc roster. I have a comp I made of my fave Mikkey joints that I rock with every now and them. Dude just needs the right look.
Mikkey also needs to step his live show game up big time.. Seriously. It’s to the point where I see no value in checking for him if he’s performing or going out to smoke while he’s onstage if it’s part of a bigger show cause this dude is straight boring in person, no persona. I fucks with his music heavy, but Having seen him live a half-dozen times or so here in the Chi i can say his live show is a glaring weakness in his overall arsenal. I’d honestly rate it D/D-minus quality.

Maybe it was an off night for the homey. I live in a suburb not too far from Milwaukee and i’ve seen him perform here and Chicago and both times he was on the money. The crowd seemed to really like him too. He did an acapella of a new song that was great. I’ve been looking and can’t find it. He talks about the problems with the welfare housing system.
