The prime indicator that I’m head over heels in love with this particular mixtape? The fact that not only are we posting the front cover, we’re including the inner artwork as well. Unlike most, Theophilus’ mixtape is a work of art, bar code included or not, and it should be presented as one whole in order to help convey his message. Everything from paying respect to Marvin with the title (which immediately sets the bar high) and opening song cover to posing with the feline descendant of LL’s panther. It’s all here. VA$HTIE’s playing hostess. And we finally get the full and complete version of “Flying Overseas.”
Looking from the big picture point of view, I fully believe he’s one of those multi-talented artists who has the ability to help steer the course of music. Not just Hip-Hop. Music. With his arrangements, delivery and content, he’s cut from the same cloth of a few others I’m fond of – B.o.B., Dãm, etc. – who don’t necessarily fit into the narrow lanes of what’s expected, but manage to do the unexpected with grace. While they all may not make a mainstream impact, it will have a decided influence on your favorite artists. And just like Marvin’s I Want You played like a courtship between lovers, so does Theophilus’, be they lovers of music, life or anything in between.
Enjoy.

lmao, or Va$htie <3′s These Guys
* As we skip over to a parallel universe where a marketing meeting involving Michael Rappaport circa Bamboozled is already in progress…*
“Theophilus London?” What kinda bougie, UK-sounding, alt rock, emo rap, pitchfork-happy name is that? And what’s with the Fab 5 Freddie lookin’ get up? This ain’t 1981!
Nope. Ain’t no De La Croix’s up in here in 2010. Nah, son that ain’t sellin. We gotta blacken this fool’s name up some so the streets can relate.Feel me? Here’s where I’m at:
T-Lon.
Teddy L
Theo EL.
Ted El Don.
Phil Low
Feel lo’
T-L Smoove.
The Lawn Don.
First name: “Thee-O” Last name: “Feel-Us”.
Theo Hux! (get it?!)
TS Le Don.
You know where I’m at. Any of them is better than that bookworm business he workin with now. And we need some hood life in these rhymes. Some real raw and uncut honesty.
Kick the truth to the young black youth. C’mon mah **ggas, we gotta set it off! Now go back and bring me something I can sell!
YES!
If it’s half as good as TCM, I’ll be happy.
Fire tape…that “Life of a Lover” Jam is so ill…so is “Overseas”
BC: What’s crazy is he probably has a radio exec tell him that.
DA: From your keyboard to God’s eyes.
dope!
Can’t wait to snag this when I get home.
Va$htie… the brown Olivia Munn.
As I told Tinsley earlier, I love you from the bottom of my heart. I know we never met and quite possibly never will… but we share a connection. Not many people are hearing what we have to say about this dude. But I have no doubt in my mind he will sneak into the mainstream arena become a key player.
I have been a fan of Theophilus London for a while. Listening to JAM!, This Charming Mixtape and I Want You has shed light on his growth. He is a breath of fresh air within hip hop. Dare I say that he is one of the many things that the game has been missing??? I, like yourself, am thrilled about this new mixtape. The range of emotions, sound and color is just what is needed for this summer.
I appreciate so much, that you write about him and others that are similar. I need the world ::pointing at everyone:: to know that Weezy (or insert any well known poster child) is not the “end all be all” of hip hop. Actually, he/she is one of the many threads that weaves our culture into a beautiful cloth within music. HAHA, that last line was so cheesy (but I meant it). Mr. London is one of the few that took us out of a box and to be honest… the air is better out here. Anyway, keep informing the people and I will keep loving you. :)
P.S.- Have you heard of Melo-X??? If not you should!!! Mind blowing…
This tape is different, but dope. It’s on some hipster vibe, but I can dig it.
My favorites are “No Answers” and “Life of a Lover”.
TCM & his tune with Mickey Factz (Rest of ‘Em) from many moons ago, where I believe he outshone Mickey..imo.
A nice break from same ol’ same ol’.
*Downloading now*
btw – Jesse & Theophilus = hits
Mickey Factz ain’t on Roc Nation, Theophilus London Should do

What’s up with the DL link???
I Want You, Mixtape, but the DL link isn’t working!
@black canseco you sir are truly retarded. grow up haha. although i must admit your list of names was quite amusing. seriously though i hope that was like some kind of twisted joke. his music is so much better than any bullshit hip hop on BET or w.e
This is so fuckin dope!!
@ Black Canseco…dude that shit was hilarious…regardless wether you were serious or not…it was funny but you already know he would never ever rap abt anything hood…and this is as black as its gonna get…lol but he is mos def a good artist and his music is nice…but it would be funny to see him in some chucks wit an LA fitted and dickies
Um… I don’t understand why I’m the first person to say this, but am I the only one who thinks Mr. London sounds ridiculously similar to Kid Cudi? Like, insanely so. It doesn’t mean he’s not talented, or copying, because he definitely has his own style… but, in his flow, in his voice, in his inflections… it kept throwing me off, actually, because I kept forgetting who I was listening to.
