Eastern influence will always find its way into a hippie’s music; it’s inevitable. Not sure if Kellee Maize would necessarily refer to herself as such, but I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibilities. She’s not ignorant to people’s aversion to her music because of who she is or what she speaks on. She makes this clear with the sitar-filled, reggae-influenced “Pulse.” She also makes it clear that it doesn’t bother her. The chorus on “Pulse” is seductively melodic with conversational verses resting in between urging the listener to join her on a spiritual journey towards love.

She might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think she’d rather serve her blend organically to a smaller crowd than spread poison to the masses.
