Having trouble finding the hole on the main courses? Is the balance in your swing a little wobbly? If Tiger can get his way back to the tee, than so can you–with Libigrow. For $5 a shot, you’ll be macking the mistresses in The Masters just like you have a green jacket of your own. And just to be on the safe side, let’s have a look at the ingredients shall we. Obnoxious as it sounds, “Let Them Hoes Fight” is the new lead single from Trina’s upcoming fifth album Amazin’, which finds these two explicit sex symbols getting their presumptuous chickenhead on amidst Jim Jonsin’s sonic circus of knocking 808′s and falling synths. Despite sounding forced and subsequently suffering from ignorance in bar form, this riot maker is guaranteed to ruin both the FM airwaves and many a weave along the way. Read the rest of this entry »
If you want to see a professional at work, take a peek into a Ras Kass recording session, as one quarter of The HRSMN invades Ski Beatz’ Big-Apple-based 24 Hour Karate School to lay down a vicious verse for “I Got Mine,” his collaboration with Nikki Wray, Tabi Bonney and Stalley for the dojo’s recently released self-titled mixtape.
I appreciate how Rassy openly shows viewers – take for take – how he’s placing punch-ins to produce his final product. Not every rapper will admit to using them, but to provide proper enunciation, certain times those breathers are a must. Plus, my man seems to have head screwed on tighter than ever, and his recent work ethic has been backing it up.
You never know, if he can steer clear of mischief, the Golden Chyld may see his day after all.
Living in the moment and making it count like he used to, Joey comes off the top turnbuckle to body Alicia & Drake’s original little love ditty something vicious. Read the rest of this entry »
Last time Bobby’s management sent us a track we happily posted it…then had to remove it @ the behest of another branch of operations (think about that). Kind of sour considering, but whatever. Let’s hope we all can enjoy this one for what it’s worth because the gee-tar licks on it are lovely. Read the rest of this entry »
Here’s another reason why Japan is far superior than the rest of the world. To celebrate Manhattan Records’ 30th anniversary, they brought together legendary producers Pete Rock & DJ Premier for a once-in-a-lifetime DJ battle. I’m not expecting Roc Raida-level cutting and scratching but, as the video suggests, this will be an all-out party rocking event for the ages.
I’m doing my best to find someone to sponsor me to get over to Tokyo on May 2nd for this monumental jam. Any takers?
When you copped the latest Source for the kid on the cover with the co-sign, you might’ve caught Skewby cold chillin’ underneath the coveted Unsigned Hype title. Aside from that, and just coasting the success of his debut Proving You Wrong Since 1988 mixtape that we previewed back in November, the dude Skewb has been steady working his way through the cluttered scene to the front of the stage.
Looking for a summer internship? Still delusional enough to want a job in the music industry? Working towards a degree in a computer related field & willing to travel abroad? So much hubbub made about this tape when I personally feel his album had just as many (if not more) clever one-liners and charisma. Probably because I listened to it thoroughly and you didn’t. The beats and concepts were better, yadda-yadda-yadda. Regardless there’s a funeral being held and Loso the undertaker is pumping his embalming fluid into the tracks. Read the rest of this entry »
This guy Ronnie really just isn’t playin’ fair right? After giving away “the Aquas” a few week ago, he’s now offering up another one-of-one Asics that he’s offering up and these are dubbed the “Salmon Toes.” High grade nubuck, leather and pig skin and is a sample size 9. The winner will be announced on Monday April 5th. You know the drill. Read the rest of this entry »
2009 was a year full of rapper/singer hybrids fighting for your attention. Outasight managed to separate himself from the pack with an unique sound and a host of feature efforts. The Internet favorite dropped two tapes, including the critically acclaimed Further, and his output throughout the year led to a deal with Warner Music Group. Despite his steady rise, he doesn’t seem complacent with his current situation. The Y-O native calls himself a “relatively unknown” artist among the mainstream crowd and is well aware of the road ahead of him. Read the rest of this entry »
First it was Snoop Dogg that reached out to Mayer Hawthorne on the super-come-up tip, now apparently Miss AmErykah is looking to doo-wop, too. I guess it’s just another chapter in the man-meets-whirlwind saga of the hodgepodge heartthrob once known as Haircut.
Next thing you know, Hawthorne will be sitting cross-legged on a huge red, floor pillow next to Paul McCartney, smoking from a roach-clip and dissecting the genius of Ashford & Simpson.
Actions speak louder than words and Jay Rock and his camp are shaping up to be among the most consistent artists (new or old) to arise from the California sunshine in a long time. By keeping the streets and the charts fed with material, Watts’ finest is making sure all his bases are loaded come time to hit the homer with his debut album. Read the rest of this entry »
For the most part, So Icey has handled Radric’s incarceration rather well. Drop a track here, drop a video there, hand out an unreleased record to keep the blogosphere happy. Now with the summer months around the corner (aka the time Gucci usually generates the most buzz), the official mixtape eyes a release date only two weeks away, April 13. Basically the way they drew it up.
This isn’t necessarily “breaking news,” seeing as how it’s been known for about a week now. But for those who may need a crash course, just know a portion of this project was recorded from the bing – making the most of those phones. DJ Holiday replaces Drama and proceeds to bring the entire trap along with him on Burrrprint 2HD. Rick Ross, Shawty Lo, Waka Flocka, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Ludacris and others stop by to visit the incarcerated C.E.O. And if that wasn’t enough, a visual trailer has been added to get those packs moving and traps going ham.
The Zone 6 street king also recently released a video for one of the better tracks from the last album – “All About The Money” Feat. Rick Ross.
