I would never wear flip-flops, sandals, chancletas or anything resembling any of those. “But what would you wear to the beach?” B#tch, I’m Black. I don’t have any business at the beach anyways. But come spring and summer, these are the lick. Since they were first released in 1995, I’d guess that I’ve owned about six or seven pairs of Rifts. One of the most unique & comfortable shoes to ever emerge from the house that Phil built. The neoprene upper and velcro strap keep the shoe snug and firmly in place while the sole does it’s job of providing essential cushioning. Your friends will tend to joke and call them “the ninja shoes,” but they aren’t your real friends anyway.

Over the years, they’ve been harder and harder to acquire, especially in A.) my size and B.) in the U.S., since most releases stayed overseas. With the exchange rate, that usually runs the costs up to well over $160-180+ before shipping. But thankfully Nike saw fit to retro the OG colorway once again. If you’re like me, score while they’re available. Lord knows they won’t last long.

Bring on spring, long last summer.

Available now @ Hanon, thanks to Sole Collector for droppin’ a dime.
