Kurupt & Terrace Martin – “Murder Fitness”

A lot of rappers speak on “killing” the track or “murdering shit,” but most of the time they only proclaim it and end up not following through. In fact, most rappers that use this kind of imagery have no kind of reasoning behind the claims, working with the “say it until it’s true” mentality that usually ends up bearing no fruit. As with every rule however, there are plenty of exceptions that make one forget the rule in the first place.
Kurupt, one of the most lyrical rappers to ever grace the mic, is definitely one of those dudes. While his consistency is somewhat questionable, Young Gotti sounds better than 99.9% of the game when he does go in. With a vast vocabulary that would make even the most educated members of our society take notice, his poetical excellence makes most rappers seem like runner-ups from a third grade spelling bee.
On “Murder Fitness,” which is a preview to Terrace Martin’s album The Demo, the Dogg Pound gangster demonstrates his ability to mutilate the drums and decapitate the melodies in a way that is beyond exceptional. Words cannot accurately encapsulate the scene of the crime. So instead of reading a recap, it would be more appropriate to become a witness.

Considering all of the insanely great material that didn’t make The Demo, I would definitely advise anybody with a taste for dope Hip-Hop to keep their eyes & ears peeled.

Yea I heard this leaked about a week or so ago when it first leaked! Better late posting then never like they say though! Kurupt definitely murdered it & has really been on his shit lately again! That Demo album is definitely going to be a problem to with how dope all of these cuts that haven’t made it have been to!

Kurupt has been banging out classics since The Chronic dropped, definitely one of the most if not THE most lyrical mc to ever rep the west, its just such a shame he never gets the exposure he deserves, every head knows Kurupt’s name and his lyrical skills, but he just never had that major limelight, after all rapping is a profession so main stream success or at least money is I guess quite naturally every rappers goal. Here’s hoping The Demo brings him that exposure, this track is just too much…
(K1NG right about his consistency being somewhat questionable, though i guess thats what makes his s*it so amazing, between tracks he jumps from high school rhyming to PHD sh*t!!)
