Freeway & Jake One – “She Makes Me Feel Alright” Live @ Highline Ballroom
Events By Gotty™ on February 21, 2010 at 12:34 pmLast Tuesday, Freeway and Jake One took to the stage at the Highline Ballroom for the “The New York Stimulus Package,” which is coolspeak for the NYC stop on their city-to-city tour of album release parties. Gettin’ their independent grind on the right way by making each market feel special, if only for one night. After being introduced by Miss Info, the duo charges right into the album’s first single, “She Makes Me Feel Alright,” highlighted by the timeless Rick James-sample and Free’s professions of adoration and devotion in verse.
Thanks to Frank, Big Machine Media and team @ Highline for the accommodations. Respect to North Tower Media’s Matt Mitchener (director), Kristopher Rey-Talley & Dustin Nakao-Haider (cameras), Eric Swiecinski & Devin Chanda (producers) for putting in work. Watch for additional footage in the next day or two.

respect the grind.
respect the fresh.
That’s 1 of my favorite cuts off that album
I love how Jake One flipped that sample
dope. these guys make hot videos.
Free could benefit from Creative Control.
I wonder if he has Dame’s number?
Amp,
I like to think we did a comparable, if not a better, job than what CC could’ve done here.
I was there… shit was dope, wish beans made an appearance…
I’ll be @ Curren$y on Wed, and DOOM/ Mos Def on Friday…
Gz Up,
Where Spitta playing at?
No shots at all Devin lol.
I wasn’t really referring to this live footage (looking forward to part 2). I was actually thinking along the lines of CC doing videos for some of the songs off of The Stimulus Package. It was nothing against North Tower Media. I just think Creative Control brings a certain aesthetic that would fit what Free’s doing right now.
lol, my bad, Amp.
I see what you mean. I feel like that kind of high-end video presence is what all serious artists should be implementing.
To me, all these artists could benefit from linking w/NTM, SP Agency, Motion Family, etc. Since their is no outlet for videos anymore (not on the major scale) you link w/those doing major work & have cultivated a following. Set aside a budget & film multiple vids to help push your product out there.
Throw Court Dunn’s name in there too.
Album of the year…and it’ll be tough for anything to surpass it.
Album of the year

A bit of a stretch, don’t cha think?
@Amp
Nope.
Fam, it’s February.
There’s a whole lotta 2010 left.
lol
Are we gonna see a review on TSP?
Amongst a slew of other albums…..
Are we gonna see a review on TSP?

What kinda question is that?
Today’s AOTY is forgetton by August. Sad, but true.
It is a very good album, but there is alot of music coming soon to crown it as the best.
Philadelphia Freeway > Free At Last > The Stimulus Package

Yes Amp. I own a calendar and I realize February is only the 2nd of 12 months. I’m simply forecasting. Of course there is a possibility something will drop that is better than 2010 I’m just saying anyone would be hard pressed to make an album better than Free and Jake did.
Happy now??
I love when outlandish claims get made so early. Over enthused much? LOL
holy shit how did he flip that sample like that. you cant cut a beat like that off to acapella a verse. nah.
Curren$y @ Blender on thursday (gramercy) NYC
