I completely missed The Humdinger, but Wooden Leather still gets burn from time to time. So I’m glad they’re still around and doing their thing. On “Ride” they continue to spit the tales of the everyman, over a beat that if I didn’t know better could almost be classified as Country music. Thank goodness for those frenetic hand claps keeping things in perspective.
Pursuit Of Nappyness, their fourth album is set to release on 4.20.10, which is shaping up to look like a pretty good day for Hip-Hop.

The Humdinger was surprisingly good. Definitely better than Wooden Leather although it was no Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz.
Ride is a Great tack! Humdinger was Real good and should of got air play. It has been 10 years since Watermelon, Cicken & Grits. Time to give the KY Quintet a little exposure across the map. Air time equals record sales.
Innerstate Music (2007) was also awesome!
I follow them on Twitter.com/nappyroots to keep up with the music.
:)
@J. Blaze…
son…Wooden Leather was the shit…better than any album that came out that year…
This beat is nice! I don’t know how ANYONE slept on Humdinger. That album was a dope album. “Down and Out” ft Anthony Hamilton should have got them a grammy and a HELLUVA lot of radio play.
this is mad nice for real. sounds like some true hiphop finally!!!
