Our pals over at Stones Throw tossed this dose of Dam Funk into the inbox yesterday. This time to the beat of…well…tell ‘em Peanut Butter Wolf.

Dam and I went to a studio last night and recorded an acoustic piano version of “Steppin Into My Life” and filmed the whole process live. Just Dam, an acoustic piano, 2 mics and a candle in a room surrounded by red velvet curtains – in time for Valentine’s Day.

And that’s it. A classical jam session with retro camera work. Perfect. Unlike the mellow funkiness of the OG (below), this Valentines Day recreation sounds like something you’d catch on PBS late night – blown out – and be super satisfied with just zoning to it for the next 45 minutes.
