Over the last four years I’ve spent approximately an entire week engulfed in ABC’s mind-melding mainstay Lost. I know, reading that, you probably think I’m nuts. But, really, JJ Abrams‘ has thrown so many equally minute and monstrous intricacies into this sidelined storyline, I’m left with no choice but to rent the DVDs and grab a sack of seaweed to accompany all previous episodes in order to play catch up before each new season debuts. It might be a huge waste of time, but hey, television this good is about is about as infrequent as an airplane crash.

Instead of having you lose both your job and sanity, I figured it’d be benevolent to pass along this extremely insightful video providing a 5-minutes cliff notes version of the first five seasons. Surprisingly, enough ground is covered to prepare you for the show’s final hurrah, which is marked on my calender for February 2nd.

In the meantime, John Locke and I will be time traveling and killing polar bears.
