As much credentials we like to bestow on the women of Hip-Hop who can spit, the ones who can swal…
Eh. Bad start. Let’s try that again.
Lyrical wit doesn’t always make the female MC. While many have attempted a rap career and have nothing to show for it but their ass (literally), Trina has managed to make the overt sexuality an accepted standard of her artform. No, she may not the 2nd coming of Lauryn (as if any chica rockin’ the mic is) but after over a decade in this here game, did you really expect to see her still standing?
The following is impending material from her forthcoming album Amazin’. Will you catch me riding to this? Please. But I’ll watch her assets pose in those leather pants a couple times more.

And the video for “That’s My Attitude.”

I’m not clicking play…I’ll just look at the still thankyouverymuch.

======================================================
Who the eff is buying her albums?
Kenyon Martin?
If Trina, Nicki Minaj and Keyshia Cole were ever to create a supergroup, they’d sell more then Slaughterhouse lol.
=================
lol. don’t let Budden read that.
@Amp
Doesn’t matter. Album sells don’t keep artists relevant anymore. Blogs do. But for what it’s worth, Trina gets love from the hoodrats. If Trina, Nicki Minaj and Keyshia Cole were ever to create a supergroup, they’d sell more than Slaughterhouse lol.
Yes and Jason Kidd.
With that being said, I like Trina. I’m not trying to hear that righteous shit everyday. I mean, more power to the female MC’s who are bringing that to the table but sometimes, I like the “ignorance” lol.
“lol. don’t let Budden read that.”
Oh trust… he already did lol.
Expect a video rant soon.
(Holla at me Joey)

So a blog presence is enough reason for a record label to sink money into an artist knowing they won’t break even. And if that is the case, there are a bunch of female rappers who are more talented then Trina and still generate interest. Where is Lil’ Kim’s new album? Where’s Foxy’s? I don’t get it.
And if that is the case, there are a bunch of female rappers who are more talented then Trina and still generate interest.
=======
Are people really interested in Foxy anymore? Her titty popped out a few months ago and I didn’t even feel the need to post it lol.
Furthermore, I think you have to take into account that Florida artists have a whole diff independent dynamic that’s driven off the clubs and radio there. They don’t need much support from anyone outside of their immediate region in order to be successful in terms of abilities to sell records and make songs w/an impact.
Not that I’d listen to Trina. I’ve got a handful of songs by her but…yeah, i can count’em on one hand.
With that being said, I like Trina. I’m not trying to hear that righteous shit everyday.
============================================
She is turrible. Her ghostwriter needs a ghostwriter.
Prince loves Favre lol
@ Why is she still able to record records and has not been dropped?
Slip-N-Slide Records
Look Amp, I don’t care lol. Trina raps about her sexual prowess and that’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. Yet I still listen. Like I said, I’m not trying to hear that righteous U-N-I-T-Y shit every day. I need balance lol.
As for relevancy, having an album and being relevant are 2 different things. At least in my opinion. Relevancy = Constantly being seen & heard. Entertainment & gossip blogs posts Trina partying at the club. That = seen. Music blogs post her music. That = heard.
I’m not gonna front, I don’t really have much time for female emcees, regardless of how they sound or look.
The handful of femcees that I used to dig are not really that active in the game any longer, like Ladybug, Salt n Pepa, MC Lyte and Shante.
I’ve not heard much from Trina, but she looks and sounds like a complete tart. But she obviously is shifting units to still be standing, sex and lurid female behaviour obviously sells.
P.S. Same reason Plies drops a video for like… every single song on his album.
(Yep, even industry executives scratch their heads at that fact)
word. Often, cats get it twisted. I support how Plies (and a lot of Fla. artists) have managed to create their own system without help from the majors. When the majors step to them, it’s on the artists terms by and large.
That onslaught where Plies released three album in approx an 18 mth time span? yeah, that shit was wise as hell.
This is so unpleasant it could double for an Al Qeada recruitment video.
@Gotty, the likes of Spice 1, UGK and Too Short executed that type of game plan eons ago.
It’s good while it lasts, the artist and the label eat well off the same plate and when the sloppy seconds run out. The artist can go back rolling dolo and shift units locally, and still eat.
@ Gotty
Plies stayed relevant and I respect his hustle but he is ignorant and I notice that ignorance sells.
Big up to Ignorance

Big up to Ignorance
============
Nah, I just don’t think some of you actually “get it.”
Like TRA said, he’s far far from ignorant. He’s shown a pretty sharp business acumen actually.
Nobody gives a fuck about a backpack or internet buzz lol. At the end of the day, rap is an art form and a job for artists. They’re rapping in pursuit of fame and wealth. You can buzz buzz buzz all you want about how “hot” Artist A is but if Artist A can’t turn a dollar, you think he’s gonna keep rapping? He might, but he’ll be doing it after he finishes his shift working @ the local deli.
It really is put up or shut up time b/c the landscape is changing and you’ve got artists slipping. Amp, you better go out and buy all the copies of M.O.P. you see in Best Buy. Otherwise, those dudes are gonna be your waiters @ Olive Garden lol.
Plies is not ignorant…
He just plays an ignorant rapper lol.
And yep… those publishing check$ [still] bring in bread [in 2010]. And those Florida artists are cashing a ton. They know how to craft songs for radio and club play – that is for certain.
They know how to craft bullshit for radio and club play – that is for certain.
*Fixed
LOL 2 Amp
*correction noted
Piles is so ignorant that he probably wears the same pair of boxer shorts five days on the trot and probably tries to pass that shit off as ghetto fashion, claiming it’s gully, yuck!
But anyway Trina, if this is the example that future would be aspiring female emcees have to look up to, then what hope is there for them claim true love and respect from their male counterparts?
In the words of Bruce Hornsby, that’s just the way it is, some things will never change.
Amp, you better go out and buy all the copies of M.O.P. you see in Best Buy. Otherwise, those dudes are gonna be your waiters @ Olive Garden lol.
=======================================================================
I swear I don’t know how I got branded M.O.P’s #1 fan lol.
Still, I’d rather support an artist who cares about the “art” then those who are purely “rapping in pursuit of fame and wealth”.
Plies three album stunt was nothing more then a cash grab and that 3rd album barely turned a profit. I can respect the hustle but that doesn’t mean I support it.
@ Amp
Thank you for the correction lol
Now on to this Jets/Chargers game!
If Trina, Nicki Minaj and Keyshia Cole were ever to create a supergroup, they’d sell more then Slaughterhouse lol.
=================================================================
Sad but true. And I LOVE Slaughterhouse. As a group and individually. Always have.
And I fucks with Plies like I fucks with Brother Ali. IT’S CALLED BALANCE BITCHEZZZZZZZZ!
Trina, Nicki Minaj and Keyshia Cole were ever to create a supergroup, they be WHOREHOUSE!!!
LOL
Never listened to that track with Keri & Diddy! But I did watch & listen to that video which was a decent track & I will admit I do listen to Trina every so often & even copped 1 of her albums before which was straight but nothing spectacular! Trina is still 1 of the baddest chicks to as evident from that video which had a few hits when I posted it on my blog a week or 2 ago! Honestly never thought she would be relevant this long but like word mentioned yea I like listening to that dope femcees like Lyte, Jean Grae, etc. But I also listen to some Trina, Kim, etc. for that balance! So I think besides her looks that is also why she is still relevant!
Amp, you better go out and buy all the copies of M.O.P. you see in Best Buy. Otherwise, those dudes are gonna be your waiters @ Olive Garden lol.

I swear I don’t know how I got branded M.O.P’s #1 fan lol.

ROFLMAO. *dead*
C’mon Amp it’s not a bad thing. It’s not like M.O.P. is the rap equivalent of Spandau Ballet.
Trina sucks… She ain’t even a 1 Star bitch
Here in Florida, If you are deemed hood, street or gutta these niggas gonna back you. Heavy. The more silly and ignorant the better. These chicks idolize Trina and Nicki Minaj down here like they are Gods… don’t get me started on Plies and Gucci….SMH
Yall obviously don’t be around enough females. I aint talking about the birds either I’m talking college bitches and beyond as well. Trina (especially), Rasheeda, Nicki Minaj cut the deck. Throw in some Rick Ross, Pitbull, Drake, Jeezy, and Fabolous and these girls will be ready to get naked I promise you.
Yall niggas trippin talking about some MOP. Below the mason dixon line and west of the NY state line NOBODY and I do mean NOBODY is listening to them niggas. Yall need to get with the times. MOP’s last song was in like 2000…shit was forever ago…Ante Up. Them niggas are ancient history.
Trina got hits, she could put out a greatest hits album right now. She been dropping hits for 12 years. And long term…the hits are what keep you relevant. It’s what establishes your legacy. Not the blogs, not publicity stunts, not because you love the art. It’s can you consistently get a large quantity of people to like your music over a long period of time? Trina gets paid just to show up somewhere…she’s endorsed…she got bookoo money. Looks don’t keep you relevant for 12 years.
Yall narrow minded open your eyes and ears, observe shit that happens…look around…see what people like in their music. Yall yapping about Plies and how ignorant he is but he got more Gold albums than MOP, more money, more business savvy, he has a legacy.
Yall talking about for the love…blah blah blah…niggas do this shit for money and like I said if a rapper tells you otherwise that nigga is lying because if they did it for love they’d do it for free. Hate to break it to you but nobody works for free. That’s why MOP like every other artist sells their cd in stores and on itunes so they can get paid.
Lady of Rage FTW
@ Yo Daddy
Father? Why are you so mad? Did you marry Trina after the divorce with mother? You seem too angry. Call me. We need to speak about the summer home renovations (Oh… and the fact that you believe stepmother Trina has enough hits for a “Greatest Hits” album).
Thats Kenyon Martins woman, he has her lips tattoed on her neck, kinda off subject but in the first round against New Orleans last year Weezy was sittin courtside and Trina was a few rows back, thought that may be akward for K-Mart.
damn another reason why females will never succeed. smh
Why is everyone hating on Trina?
She’s done good for women everywhere. I bet you there isn’t a song she’s done where you couldnt relate to.
She’s amazing and her songs may be sexually explicit and “demeaning” to many people but that’s for all the people who hate rap would hate that.
If you can do better, then you’ve got the right to diss.
But as far as i know, she’s doing better then all you haters and oh forgot to mention.
Her album Still Da Baddest was #1 on the Billboard Rap charts on it’s first week.
Try hate on that.
