NBA Jam is coming back.
Yes, that 1993 game brought me as much joy in that era as Baywatch bikini slow-mo jogging. The game had its obvious flaws like Michael Jordan’s absence, but in retrospect didn’t that add to his legend? As a result the sub-par Pippen/Grant combo proved to be more memorable in the process.
What was your favorite on court duo? Most would say Malone/Stockton or LJ/Mourning. But you couldn’t sleep on the Rony Seikly/Glen Rice tandem or how about Jeff Hornacek/Clarence Weatherspoon pairing?
Now that EA Sports bought the rights, I’m curious on what they’ll decide to do for the Wii console. As long as they bring back classic phrases like “He’s on Fire!” I’m straight. Either way, I know I’ll be throwing the control across the room in defeat as well as gloating in victory screaming “Boomshakalacka!”

definitely the Charlotte Hornets LJ & Mourning..they were tough….KJ & Barkley was it? Whoever was on the Suns team…might have been Majerle…can’t remember but they were real tough to beat. I also remember the Magic team being touch but can’t remember who they had Scott Skiles maybe…(i may be gettin the games mixed up now)
The 1st NBA Jam you couldn’t swap players. On TE you could.

This was my favorite basketball series for a minute. EA’s basketball games weren’t that fun to me back then.
LJ/Mourning was one of my favorite pairs to use. I’d go with Starks and Ewing sometimes but Patrick always got dunked on.
I hope they put this on the 360/PS3 too. No disrespect but I don’t see myself buying a Wii over this even though nostalgia is calling me.

Dayum I was coming in to say the George Clinton code — I would pair him with the RainMan!! – Shawn Kemp for you under-achievers and destroy dudes.. This game was out when i was in college and EASILY spent more on this than food that year.
I never played with the Knicks or Bulls during those yrs.. other teams would heat up way to fast on you.
The Atl pairing with the Plasticman and Nique was nice IF! you needed to D up a guard but an alley-opp was ignorantly hard.
If it happens with this yrs crews.. I would play more with the Atl combo.. no matter who it is.. They have a nice squad of defenders that score.. and are under-rated by most. That’s what made the Seattle team so bonkers.
