The iPod Shuffle – “The Overweight Lover’s In The House”
MUSIC By Gotty™ on January 1, 2010 at 9:54 pm
In lieu of posting the latest video installment Ray Benzino Vs. Crooked I (Youtube beef = type ghey), I figured sharing some Hip-Hop would be a better move. Heavy’s flow always sound right @ home alongside the horns from the J.B.’s “Pass The Peas”.
While we’re here and in a reminiscing mood, let us count a few things that once were cool in 1987, as evidenced by this clip.
1. Andre Harrell & that Uptown Records’ stamp meaning something.
2. Dookie ropes
3. Dancing emcees and…
4. Accompanying backup dancers
5. The DJ
6. Light-skinned dudes
7. Fat people

Damn are light skinned brothas out again? Shit. I can’t keep up. Is it like only on leap years or some shit? Can I get an iCal going? Facebook group? That’s some ol bullshit right there… What we need is a dope mulatto rapper to save us all! Our history is tainted.
Ah…
Y’all knew I’d come outta the woodwork for this post. Lovely. Hev was always mad underrated. Dude had clubs poppin with every release. One of the more relaxed, smooth flows of his era. So much charisma. And Hev’s lyricism was always slept on because he wasn’t this hard, tough guy. Too bad, too…
Plus Bigman Dwight, Harrell + ‘nem also brought us one of the truly great posse cuts ever: Uptown Is Kickin It. If you’re honest, you’re hard-pressed to name 10 posse cuts that’re as consistent as “Uptown…”
Sit back and get your T.R.O.Y. on for a sec…

Heavy D is the man.

The revelation to your inspiration.
LOL but you are right. lol
@Barack, fear not, in 2010 Redbone Capone is taking over the air waves.
Back in 1987-89 that one Blair Underwood looking dude was always in music videos, like Pebbles, Karyn White, Janet Jackson, dude was like a male video hoe to the max.
BTW, isn’t Heavy D a big shot executive over at Universal nowadays?
Livin’ Large was a certified classic during that era anyway. Lots of dope cuts on there. Hev was killin em! Fast forward a bit… I still bump “You Can’t See What I can See.” Plus he was Khadijah’s man on Livin’ Single. I always had it bad for Latifah… I know, I know.
