The Jets may not be heading to the “Big Dance,” but the organization and their fans can find solace in knowing they’ve got one of the most entertaining coaches in all of sports. He knows football too, but that’s besides the point. Rex Ryan is one of those guys who is a classic quotable waiting to happen win, lose or draw. He’s intense, to say the least, and has never made any apologies towards his attitude. And nor should he.
It’s 2010 so no meltdown goes unnoticed, such is the case with this third quarter tirade. After a botched Marc Sanchez hand off which Ryan took as roughing the passer, Rex heads over to the closest zebra he could find and proceeds to whisper sweet nothings into his hear after no yellow laundry was thrown on the field. Personally, at this point, I consider Sanchez simply Jamarcus Russell with a better defense, but I’m also the guy who completely bombed my predictions this postseason. Regardless, it’s still fun to watch Double R have a Twitter meltdown in real life. Oh, about that quotable. Here’s what the head coach had to say about the no call.
“I think if we’d done that on their quarterback, there might have been some real issues,” Ryan said after the game. “They might have run me out of the stadium.”

That was a wack no-call. But Rex laid into the refs. If Shonn Greene didn’t go down, the game might have turned out differently…
Sanchez is nothing like Jamarcus, mane. For one thing, he prob has more TD passes in one season than JR has had in like 3. Also, he is not obese. Give dude a break. He started more games this season than he did in his entire career at USC. Sanchez is gonna be fine.
I say this as a Steelers and more importantly, a Notre Dame fan, so No Ho-mer.
Man, this dude finds one thing after another to bitch about to (try and) make controversial.
The mofo makes no bones about his hitting the qb on every play theory, then bitches when the same happens to his girlfriend Mark.
I’m not saying Sanchez isn’t going to be a very good QB in the league.
But look at Russell’s rookie stats vs. Sanchez. They’re practically identical if I’m not mistaken.
the refs set this years championship up they wanted colts vs saints so bad and it showed big time
Roughing the passer is the subject of conversation eh?
How about the Saints having ZERO sacks and yet hitting Favre almost 20 times?
I’d like to see JaMarcus make some of the pin-point throws that Sanchez made yesterday. Please actually watch players when you make comparisons and don’t just go off season stats. I know this is surprising to the casual fan but in actuality player analysis goes a bit deeper than just taking the numbers at face value.

LOL @ pinpoint throws. Ok, cool you got it, Trent Dilfer.
In all seriousness though, if Russell had some type of working system in Oakland, he might be ok. Keep listening to the media who flip flop who they like every week depending on wins or loses. I never said Sanchez was never going to be a bust.
But let’s be honest, Sanchez was afforded the opportunity to make mistakes with that great defense (I’m not holding that against him) while Russell is playing for the Bad News Bears of pro sports.
You might be the first Jamarcus Russel apologist I’ve come by.
First, you claim that Sanchez is Jamarcus Russell with a defense (read: Jamarcus Russell is as good as Sanchez). You back this up by claiming that their rookie stats are comparable, which is wildly false (in fact, Jamarcus’ 3rd year stats are much worse than Sanchez’ rookie year). And then, to top it off, you claim that Jamarcus is the product of a bad system and it’s not really his fault.
Why do you care for Jamarcus so much?
