if the Celtics get beaten like Chauncey in “Menace II Society” I won’t be surprised in the least. Even if they somehow manage to beat the Lakers today it will mean nothing unless they win 10 or 12 straight & beat the Cavaliers again as well. If they somehow manage to get 100% healthy & magically realize they need to play defense & run in order to win that’d be great but if not? This is the last year they have a serious shot @ the title.
This free agent season will chance the NBA, Ray Allen won’t be back & the main Celtics will all be a year older (That’s only good for Hulk & Rondo). Unless the Celtics can make another miracle deal they’ll be contenders but no longer elite for years to come. they aren’t even an elite team right now. it as all good in December. *Kanye shrug*

@3rd world: not taking shots, just a realistic assessment. They obviously got star talent and frontcourt depth (though they could use another guard off the bench that can run point so house can play 2). But Doc Rivers isn’t the best X and O’s coach, they’re getting older, and they’re injury-prone. Wallace is laughably out of shape and has probably hurt the team more than he helped at this point, while KG is a shell of what he was even 2 years ago, much less in his prime. Your whole season rides on his balky knee.
