The official word comes tonight, but the guys at Ball Don’t Lie got the scoop on the All-Star reserves. As a Boston fan, I’m happy Rajon Rondo got a deserved spot. Paul Pierce too, even if it may be on legacy at this stage.
Point guards Deron Williams of Utah, Chicago’s Derrick Rose and Boston’s Rajon Rondo will make their All-Star Game debuts next month in Dallas, sources said Thursday. Besides Rondo and Rose, the East roster includes Boston’s Paul Pierce, Toronto’s Chris Bosh, Charlotte’s Gerald Wallace and Atlanta’s Joe Johnson and Al Horford.
The West reserves are the New Orleans’ Chris Paul, the Lakers’ Pau Gasol, Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki, Memphis’ Zach Randolph and Portland’s Brandon Roy.
Knicks fans, quit your whining. David Lee hasn’t played defense since his days at the Swamp.
The amount of young talent on the team bodes well for the future of the league as well as for the tens of thousands that will flock to Dallas’ football mega church for the game. Now if only AI can come up with a phantom ankle injury…

No Monta? And I’m really not feeling that “good player, bad team” argument/excuse either. Dubs been playing almost the entire year with 6 players, and Monta’s played damn near every minute of each game (while consistently outplaying opposing stars on ).
Unlike other places (namely Knicks country), Bay Area folks have come to accept season after season of disappointments (as long as the Dubs average 100+ per we’re cool). But this disappointment stings a little more than usual because, unlike the Knicks, we actually have a guy who deserves the shine. This would have been a great boost of confidence for the youngin.

david lee is a pretty damn good PF for his level of talent. but he IS NOT a franchise player. franchise players are not involved monthly in trade talks. he is a big trade chip, thus not a franchise’s untradeable player.

Eddie Winslow, otherwise known as Zach Randolph, since Pau isn’t a center and neither is Dirk. I thought you needed two centers for each team but apparently I’m wrong.

AI and KG both got voted in on some legacy shit even though neither has played close to an all-star level this season. Jesus Shuttlesworth was right, the system needs to be fixed so fan votes aren’t weighed so heavy to the point that dudes having non-all star caliber seasons get voted in on the strength of rep.
Both of those dudes should back out of the game to create a spot for any of the following 2 ballers that got snubbed: Stephen Jackson, Joakim Noah, and Josh Smith.

As a Hawks fan I was proud to see both AL & Joe make the squad, but no Josh Smith? SMH. As for all you Monta Ellis fans, being a shot happy, ball hog doesn’t mean you’re an All Star. Doesn’t Monta lead the league in FG attempts? Plus in the West, team record should matter when the coaches pick reserves.
