With Creative Control’s cameras rolling (again), the spotlight is on Mighty Mos this time around as he drops a verse on “White Drapes” for Michael Sterling Eaton’s Mictape Vol. 1. Those wary of Mos’s propensity to sing may be happy to hear he doesn’t croon one bit in this short video. Instead, he lays down some by-the-book bars over a beat laden with chords, a weighty bassline and ambient vocals. Mictape Vol. 1 will also feature artists like Curren$y, The Cool Kids and Stalley among other contributors yet announced. There’s no date on the album so far but with a lineup like that it’s something to keep an eye on.
And as an extra, here’s an unreleased Mos track that didn’t make The Ecstatic and was liberated by Andrew @ FSD.

MOS DEFinitely
mos is such a hit & miss for me. when he hits, McGuire & Bonds steroids couldn’t hit it harder, but when he misses….shit Mighty Casey didn’t miss that bad.
@ veego
I agree. Overall, rounded out, summed up, I think he’s a mediocre artist.
talking about the story of Mighty Casey not the one from “White Girls” fame.

I wouldn’t say he’s a mediocre talent (outside of singing) but his output leaves much to be desired. Black on Both Sides was good and then he dropped two duds. I liked Ecstatic even though it has rough patches here and there.
^ You don’t mean that. lol
Mos is dope. It just seems that he’s now become an acquired taste for folks.
Mos is a talented MC; his albums have been inconsistent.
TOTAL CONTROL- MOS, YOU GOT IT. all the fireworks and shit are a bit much but I dig it.
i second on biggga’s comment
Co-Signs Bigga
I think that’s what turns folks from Mos because everyone can tell he should be vying for the crown in relation to BK and/or NYC.
But he chooses to treat hip-hop differently than most expect of him. He is that dude in school that was good at everything he tried.. problem is he wouldn’t try hard.
Mediocre artists drop strings of inconsistent albums.
Anybody know what album is Taxi (produced by Ski) is gonna be on…?
