I’ve got a problem. Give or take a few records, I’m a fan of DJ Khaled and the great majority of his catalog. And you know what? I don’t mind dude yelling nonsense over each song either. It’s quite funny and brings added hype to the compilation. That’s the point of a DJ right?
“Put Your Hands Up” is the second offering from Victory and touts the usual cast of characters. Furthering my belief that TM103 can’t hit shelves quick enough, Jeezy bats lead off and drops a few quotables then dips out. Plies addresses a supposed bounty for his life and how he plans to play peacemaker. Ross draws inspiration from 2Pac, claiming to spit the “realest shit he ever wrote.” I disagree, but it rides nonetheless. Schife finds himself relegated to hook duties and, of course, Khaled closes out with some words of wisdom.
All in all, pretty decent track and an honest attempt at crafting another hood anthem. He’ll never top this banger though.

Bonus: While you’re at it, take this one too because even I didn’t believe it was real at first.

Khaled doesnt actually make these beats does he? I’m pretty sure that he just talks over the tracks. Which i guess is cool……kinda…….not really though
Rick Ross stay winning… I think the khaled album will be a banger like the rest of his mixtapes packaged as albums. I’m sure it will have it’s fair share of heaters….this song included. I didn’t really like Fed Up but this shit rides.
Khaled’s brilliant.
hehe, i was speaking in jest. he makes a burner here and there. i don’t hate him all the time but i dislike him more than I like him. I still play “out here grindin’” though. slaps.
@ Gotty, brilliant may be a little too strong of a word. Where you use the word brilliant, I would use OVERRATED . I just don’t understand that if you don’t produce the beats, and just say “WE DA BEST” over them its no different than me using auto-tune and calling it a banger.
Having said that, (Larry David voice) I do like the material that he talks over.
Say what you want, but his 1st album did not have 1 wack joint on it. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked it up on the bargain rack at Circuit City.
Plus every time he runs you have to smile. lol
…i wish timbalandd just talked on his tracks like khaled
Khaled should do a posse-cut with Kay Slay, DJ Drama, Whoo Kidd(including
keybord-gunshots, Envy&Clue…NO rappers!
Stay in your lane and stop crossover with lyricists!!
…or shut up and do beats.
Khaled likes to think himself as a ‘Exclusive Producer’
But he don’t make shit, He is just basically a promo man.
he Would be no where without The Runners, cool & dre making those beats
khaled needs to produce more again
he created some good beats back then
