Aside from the major outlets and boxing sites, something tells me TSS covers this Pacman/Mayweather spectacle more than the norm. For our services, I propose the entire TSS fam be awarded media passes for fight night. Imagine how that would pan out. With all that said, Teef called it. This fight is going to happen by choice or by force. After the threats of lawsuits and the cancellation of the fight altogether, cooler heads are beginning to prevail. Hopefully. Forty-five milli hanging over their heads and camps from both fighters have agreed to “talk it out” with a mediator.
Mediator Daniel Weinstein will preside over the meeting in Santa Monica, Calif. Weinstein, a retired federal judge, also mediated the acrimonious dispute between Top Rank, Pacquiao’s promoter, and Golden Boy, which represents Mayweather, that kept the companies from doing fights together for almost two years.
…
The hope is that Weinstein can once again help the sides see their way through what has become an increasingly nasty battle in an effort to finalize the bout between welterweight titlist Pacquiao and Mayweather, one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, in a fight many believe will break the pay-per-view record of 2.44 million buys. Mayweather’s 2007 fight with Golden Boy president Oscar De La Hoya set the record.
Emphasis can’t be placed on how important this fight is to the future landscape of the sport. In a dream scenario, Pacquiao and Mayweather would go punch-for-punch in a 12 round split decision, controversial thriller. This would lead to a rematch and a potential tie breaker basically ensuring both fighters could receive well over $100M when the final jab is thrown. Money talks and best believe all this bullshit is about to walk. Don’t erase that March 13 date just yet. Coincidentally, it is ironic how they have to talk this situation out so they can ultimately fight. Sometimes you just have to sit back, laugh and enjoy this thing called ‘life.’
Now, about those TSS press passes…

Mayweather gets knocked out in the 6th.
I cant wait till mayweather knocks out ms pac (wo)-man.
FLYOD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Chuck Norris
ALL DAY BABY
for 45 mill, and the entire future of the sport, what could possibly be preventing this from happening?
Well let’s hope they make it happen. Boxing really needs this fight as the sport’s popularity suffered from sideways promoters and a lack of fighters with household names: especially in the heavyweight classes.
NO HOMO, YES HOMIE
HOLLA AT YA PRETTY BOY
IN MARCH, MONEY MAY FTW
PAC MAN VS FLOYD THE HEDGEDOG
GR3AT MATCH IN FUCKIN’ PERSPECTIVE
GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUUMBBBBBBBBBBBBLE
GO HARD !
Floyd will knock Pacman the heck out, like biff baff boof!
I ran into Freddie Roach last week, but he kept dodging my question about these two getting it on.
floyd got this to think anything else is preposterous….
People sometimes forget how good Floyd really is, more or less a flawless boxing machine.
Pacman is a great warrior also, and hats off to him, but I just can’t see how he will dismantle Floyd, that guy’s defensive technique is boxing par excellence.
Pacman can go in with a flurry and box close, but all those punches will be to no avail if he can’t breakdown Floyd’s defence. I see no chinks in his armour, he is flawless, he might not be my favourite boxer, but I have no hesitations in saying that he is without a doubt the most gifted boxer of my generation.
ya lol okay pacman will knock the shit outta floyd. Floyd been out wayyyyyy to long man and his comeback was just plain sad folks floyd is not Mr. butterfly or Mr. bee he’s a very good boxer. with that said Pacman is just a strait up assassin he has the best delivery in a long while. Pac got it in the bag and I’m just saying this but to the majority of people who think Pac would lose you just think Floyd would win cause he’s black and don’t say “nuh uh” you know thats why a majority of yall say so our race has held down boxing for a long time but really guy’s we can let the Filipino’s get some more spotlight time.
I want this to happen so bad
the majority of people who think Pac would lose you just think Floyd would win cause he’s black
==========================================
Yeah, it has nothing to do with the fact that throughout his career he’s never been in trouble in the ring. Or the fact that Pacquiao’s style plays right into Mayweather’s own.
Stop trying to boil everything down to the lowest common denominator and holler @ me after Floyd hands Pacquiao that ass whuppin’.
They better go on and fight each other cuz I don’t think either wants it with Paul Williams, Joshua Clottey, Andre Berto, or Shane Mosley.
Dude if floyd wins I’ll fucking jump into the pacific buck naked but once manny wins you end all your posts as FREE willy is my master and my sisters pimp
this better happen, for the sake of the sport.
and..
im sick of affliction tees.
tss is major
once manny wins you end all your posts as FREE willy is my master and my sisters pimp
==================================
This made me actually laugh out loud lol.
And Teef’s right. Neither one of these guys wants at it with the likes of a Paul Williams, Clottey or Sugar Shane.
I need to do my research on that Berto fella.
Shane ducked Floyd twice– you guys are wrong about that. Berto is an overhyped joke who doesn’t belong in the same conversation.
This fight could go either way, but Floyd should be able to pull it out if he comes in mentally prepared. He has all the tools to pick apart Pacman whose mediocre defense and penchant for wild, wide punches will provide many opportunities for brutal counterpunches. That being said, Floyd’s defense isn’t completely impregnable– he arguably lost the first Castillo fight and Zab was beating him early in their fight (which shows he might have more problems than usual with speedy, hardhitting southpaws). Pacman just might be able to physically overwhelm him and harm him before he gets a chance to take over the fight.
Floyd’s never been in trouble in the ring? Maybe you should re-visit the Zab fight. Before Roger Mayweather damn near choked the life outta Zab. Zab was winning that fight.
And i dont take anything away from Floyd being a great fighter, just for the record. Im a bigger fan of Manny though.
To say that Manny doesnt want any of Paul, Clottey, Shane, or Berto is silly. Pacquiao fan or not, you cannot suggest that hes ever ducked anyone. As far as Floyd, i think he would handle Berto, Clottey and Paul (i like Paul but he looked like shit in that last fight). I do agree though, that Floyd wants nothing to do with Shane.
I like the educated back and forth in the comments when this fight comes up, although its few and far between. You really gotta pick through the bullshit of die-hard fans who cant seem to like one fighter without hating the other.
Theres a reason this is gonna be the fight of the last quarter century, and its because on paper, this should be a close, even, exciting fight. Anyone suggesting that one fighter is going to dominate the other, regardless of which side they favor, instantly loses my respect as a knowledgeable boxig fan. This is going to be one hell of a fight, and i cant wait to watch it.
(Im picking Manny by split decision, btw)
@WC — Boxers get accused of “ducking” other boxers way too often when there are often very legitimate reasons why certain fights never get made. That being said, Pacman has been accused by some throughout the years of ducking black fighters and other slick boxers, and for preying on over-the-hill has-beens coming off big losses…
I think Floyd will hit the canvas late.
@Young – Agreed, ‘ducking’ is thrown around all too often. At the same time, from what i personally have heard/read, im unaware of any kind of consensus regarding Manny ducking anyone specifically. While on the other hand, even people who are big fans of Floyd often agree that he hasnt gone out of his way to fight the best. Granted, its his perogative if he wants to stay in his current weight class where he feels comfortable, but the reason he’s knocked for it is because all the greats have always done what they had to do to fight the best. Floyd has taken the stance that hes the champ, the contenders should have to come to his weight class if they want it with him.
We all know Floyd was fighting at 120 or so when he was younger, so hes definitely gone up in weight the same way pacquiao has, but the difference has been that Manny has won titles in 7 weight classes and has shown the willingness to put on weight or drop weight, in order to make fights happen.
Both great fighters in their own right, just slightly different career paths. Thats why this fight is so important, and why it means so much to the sport.
hahahahahahahaha my lord my lord PACman
Floyd has taken the stance that hes the champ, the contenders should have to come to his weight class if they want it with him.
==============================================================
But is he wrong for feeling that way?
Why should he put hiself at a disadvantage by gaining/dropping weight when he has nothing to prove? If the contender wants to take that shot, then they’re the ones who have to fight on Floyd’s terms.
And I think it’ll be a close fight, but not as close as PACStans would have you believe. Pacquiao hasn’t faced a fighter of Floyd’s caliber in his career and Marquez took homeboy to the limit every time. I’m not as impressed with Pacquiao. He beat Cotto like a slave but Cotto is not Floyd Mayweather. The lil’ dude has to show me something and this…
“Manny Pacquiao supporters are circulating an online petition asking that AT&T Inc. and other prospective sponsors “discontinue and forgo all endorsement relationships” with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. As of Monday morning, at least 1,500 signatures had been collected.”
…ain’t it.
Yeah, both Floyd and Pacquiao shot through several weight classes very quickly for the sake of grabbing belts. Neither of them really “cleaned out” any divisions above 130.
I will go on record saying I’m an almost Pac stan buttttttttttttttt I just feel he is the best boxer out right now Floyd was but not now cough cough AMPGEEZ tell your sis to gimme my money
@ampgeez Floyd isnt “wrong” for thinking that way, he was the champ, so the logic in his thinking was solid. But the argument is the same thing the Rugged Man was speaking on in the infamous interview. That being Floyds legacy being in question cause he didnt fight the best fighters available, like so many of the greats have done.
And sure the Pac vs Marquez fights went the distance, but that was Marquez in his prime against a young, one dimenstional Manny. You cant argue that hes the same figher now a he was then. At the time though, it was just a great style matchup, and as the old saying goes, “styles make fights”
And finally, as a Pacquiao fan, dont even get me started on all the rih-tards who have come out the woodwork to be blind Pacquiao stans. Theyre horrible, and they generally make the more educated Pacman fans look horrible by association.
(on the other hand, Floyd stans are just as ridiculous in their own right)
But that second Marquez fight wasn’t long ago at all and in my opinion, Marquez won it… Styles make fights and if Pacquaio had trouble with Marquez’s style, why wouldn’t he have even more trouble with Floyd’s? Floyd is basically a super-Marquez (but with more skill, speed and athleticism), which is why he picked him part so easily.
Pac vs Marquez was like early 2008, granted, not a terribly long time ago. But look at how much better Pacquao has gotten since then, and at the opponents that hes beaten. (and i belive hes KO’d everyone since that fight, not 100% on that though)
I dunno about Floyd being a super-marquez, but we’ll see. At the end of the day, i just dont think floyd will be prepared for Manny’s speed, relentless pressure, and the angles at which he throws from.
Either way, it should be an epic fight.
floyd is the platinium boy
and pacman is a real strong fighter
thus of course the match will be great
so cant wait 4 dis fight. 50/50 till the fight is over
